Fanny's 40K Painting Log of Numerous Armies

After creating painting logs for my Warhammer armies and Dark Eldar, I thought that it was time to give my other 40K armies some attention and that the best place to do this was in one log.

For 40K I collect Dark Eldar, which I won't include here, but in a dedicated plog which can be found in my sig. I also collect Eldar, Orks, Tyranids, Blood Angels(Edit: These have now mysteriously changed to Salamanders!), Tau, Necron, Imperial Guard and Emperor's Children. All to varying degrees.
Dark Eldar, Orks, Salamanders and Eldar are my 'main' armies at the moment, but models from other armies may make an appearance from time to time.

I'll begin the log with some WIP models.

    Firstly a Hormagaunt:

    A Tau Pathfinder:

    A BA Terminator:

A Bad Moon Warboss using the Kaptain Badrukk model (because he's worth it)

I fully realise that I have bitten off more than I can chew, but hey, I have the rest of my life right?

Looking good, the standard of painting here is great but that warboss is looking particularly awesome- the skin is gorgeous, any chance of a recipe?

No problem. As I have an Orc and Goblin army for Warhammer I decided to use a different skin tone for my Orks to help maintain my already tenuous grip on sanity.
I used gretchin green as a base with a wash of devlan mud. Then I added white to the gretchin green for successive highlights. Hope this of use

Thanks for the comments people. I may actually get some of this stuff finished now

That Hormagaunt is fantastic! I usually really dislike the Leviathan scheme, but by adding some browns to the main color and restricting the pinks/purples to fleshy bits you've made it infinitely better. The combination of both green and blue accents on the Tau is also something I never would have thought of but looks great.

    Keep on posting!

A small update. A finished Daemonette and a base for something that I hope will be finished later in the day.

Lovely stuff here. Especially liking the emperors children lord and the tyranid. Standard of painting here is tip top. I'll be checking out your dark eldar log to!

That skin on that emperors children lord is amazing. I also like how the black of the armour looks. Would you mind sharing both of your recipes for them?

Thanks! Skin was a basecoat of Dheneb Stone washed with Devlan Mud. Highlights were Dheneb Stone again with white added for successive highlights.

The black was a Chaos Black base with Codex Grey added for highlights and Fortress Grey added for the brightest highlights. It was then washed with Badab Black.

With the imminent release of some lovely Necrons, I thought that I would work on my scheme on one of only two Necron models I own. The Monolith! I don't get to paint yellow very often so I saw an opportunity here.

Have to shadow Monsterzonk's comment. The yellow is very striking and unique and now I am wanting to paint my Necron's that colour....

Woah, that's a lovely color scheme for Necrons. What's the other Necron mini you have?Would be interesting to see that scheme on an infantry model.

Thanks for the kind words guys! The other Necron model I have is the Lord with Resurrection Orb. Painting has come to a grinding halt until I can get into town as I've ran out of Golden Yellow. Not sure how that happened as I never really use it

Oh, some exquisite painting here. I love it all, but I'd really love to see you take on the 'Crons, as that's a highly original, not to mention amazingly cool, scheme you've got there.
