p.s. was the red for the Angels Sanguine based on the that WD Word Bearer scheme?

No it's not, my Flesh Tearer(s) used that, the Angels Sanguine use Scab Red and then Red Gore. Is there a difference? Maybe, I dunno.
I love the exorcist cappy. where's his shoulder pad from?
Brilliant work. Pity about the mold line on the Doom Eagle flamer marine... :P
@primeminister: The left shoulderpads from a Librarian, I think it was the guy with the axe in the indecisive movement pose. The right one is from the Red Scorpions Honor Guard
@horus aximand: Thats not a mold line. The backstory for that marine is that he injured his arm in a tragic modelling saw accident. That er.... bracer... is there to make sure his arm doesn't tremble too much when he fires. Poor guy. Very determined though. Nowadays Imperial medicine is much better, so such bracers aren't as common as they used to be.
edit: I also did a count on my stuff, and the numbers are... depressing, to say the least. To give a taste of how bad it is, I have a grand total of
6 Predators
16 Land Raiders
and
36 Dreadnoughts
On the plus side I only have 1 Rhino so finishing it when I can be bothered shouldn't be too difficult. The problems always getting the motivation.

Ok, so more than a week later, I finally have another update. Between crappy work timings and my computer going to computer heaven, I have finally managed to finish my Angels Sanguine combat squad. If I truly am one of the faster painters in my group, my group is screwed. Always late but worth the wait? You decide.
These guys are from the 2nd squad of 8th company, and I realized that the plasma gun on the left look really weird. I'll get down to fixing that later today.
edit: How do people get such crisp highlights on black?
Lookin' good! Still lovin' the freehand. And yeah, considering how often we're updatin' our project logs... I still think you're faster.
Methinks they thin down their paints just a bit.
this lot is AWESOME, will deffinetly be keeping an eye on this lot, especially the space sharks (dont care what they have been renamed to, they are still called space sharks to me!!)

Or how about a slow moving Great Crusade Log?
Yup, and yup you are, and yes we are too.The honour of fastest goes to Nick. You're definately not the slowest, I think that would be a toss up between Soo and Talon Raven. Only because one's a perfectionist and the other.... well Talon Raven does what Talon Raven does and I'll leave it at that.
I honestly don't see what you're talking about. It looks fine from here.
A few layers of thinned down paint as opposed to a single layer would be my guess.
Cheers.
[My Project Log. Latest update 13/04/2012] - [Putty's General Project Log] - [Raeho's Massive Space Marine Orgy]Funniest/coolest line I've read on Warseer! And a pretty good description of the plogs above.
The plasma coils shouldn't have the white on the side like that I feel. I hope Marc reminded you all about the character bash, he's pretty far along with his character already.
For the uninitiated, my group is having a project where we convert our own character, and create rules(optional) and background(mandatory) for them. The last round, Talon Raven made a Sentinel Pilot which he glued shut inside the vehicle, or at least that's how I remember it, and Easternheretic made a Striking Scorpion Wraithlord, which looked totally badass and is actually floating around somewhere on his own log.
My previous entry was Hervald Strom, Chapter Champion of the Iron Knights. My next entry shall be Hervald Strom, Chapter Champion of the Iron Knights. I daresay I have improved greatly in making conversions since the last time, and so want to have another shot at him to do him justice. The last one is just embarrassing now that I look at him.
Here he is in all his shame. Bad lighting, bad painting, boring posing. On my honor I swear the second version will look more badass. He'll have a Relic Blade and Storm Shield this time.
edit: How long ago was our previous character bash? I can't believe that my standards were so terrible back then.
Ok! So after a long hiatus I finally have another update again. As mentioned earlier, my next model was to be Hervald Strom, the Iron Knights Chapter Champion, and here he is in all his glory, finished sans basing.
A much better attempt than the last one if I do say so myself.
I tried my hand at writing rules for him again, and here it is.
Hervald Strom, Iron Knights Chapter Champion - 180
If you take Hervald Strom in your army, you may not include a Chapter Champion in an Honor Guard unit.
Hervald Strom has been Champion of the Iron Knights for the past 300 years, and in this time he has carved his mark into the history of the sons of Dorn. Newly elevated to his exalted rank, he entered the 812th Feast of Blades, smashing aside the opposition to emerge victor. Thus marked the beginning of a long and glorious tradition of emerging triumphant against the odds. It takes a dangerous foe indeed to require a veteran of the 1st company to take to the field, and it takes an enemy so powerful that the very fabric of the Imperium is threatened to necessitate the presence of the 1st company captain in battle. So it is that the Chapter Champion traditionally accompanies this exalted warrior, for this is where the greatest foes are to be found and vanquished.
So it was that Hervald Strom walked some of the most hellish battlegrounds imaginable. On Roklor 9, he slew the Tyranid Hive Tyrant, causing the alien swarm to lose cohesion and scatter. Aboard the Chaos battleship Starslayer he dueled and defeated the Khornate warlord commanding the vessel. When his Chapter homeworld of Brycantia came under attack by Eldar raiders, he led a Droppod assault into the heart of the enemy formation, and ensured that the corsair lord was the first casualty of the battle.
Only once has Hervald Strom met his match in single combat. During the Vinculus Crusade he fought through a tide of bloodletters to face the daemon known as the Skulltaker. Charging forth, he sent the daemon flying off the juggernaut he rode with a mighty strike from his shield, and the battle was joined between the two legendary warriors. In a titanic duel that lasted for hours, Hervald Strom was finally laid low by a powerful strike that shattered his failing Storm Shield and ripped open his armor. Bleeding from a dozen wounds, he still attempted to raise his blade to defend himself, but the Skulltaker's victory seemed assured. In that moment, Reinhart Steiner, 1st Captain of the Iron Knights came to his aid, and the Skulltaker was once again ignobly smashed aside, this time by a blow from the Captain's own shield. As Strom struggled to rise to his feet, the Black Templars and Sisters of Battle triumphed in the Battle of Fire and Blood, causing the daemon horde to dematerialize.
Despite the terrible wounds he suffered, Strom participated in the 813th Feast of Blades, and left his mark in history as the only champion to have prevailed twice in consecutive feasts. Unfortunately the time of the 814th Feast saw Hervald Strom and the Iron Knights fighting on faraway battlefields and his title was lost to the Imperial Fists champion. Now at the closing of the millennium, Hervald Strom finds himself fighting in the 13th Black Crusade, where he has been recorded as defeating three of the Black Crusade's Lords, tentatively identified as Lords Purgator, Corrupter and Deceiver. It is amid this hellish battlefield that he hopes to once again face the Skulltaker, and regain his honor through the daemon's defeat.
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
6 5 4 4 3 5 3 9 2+/3++
Wargear: Artificer Armor, Storm Shield, Frag and Krak Grenades
Honor's Edge: This is a master-crafted Relic Blade traditionally wielded by the Chapter's Champions. While wielding it, Hervald Strom's number of attacks and WS may never be reduced by any means.
Special Rules: Fearless, Combat Tactics, Honor or Death, Independant Character
Fatal Mistakes: Hervald Strom is an extremely skilled swordsman and is quick to capitalize on any blunders made by his opponents. Hervald Strom may make an additional attack whenever an enemy engaged in close combat with him rolls a 1 for their to-hit rolls. These extra attacks are made at the end of that Initiative step.
Feel no Pain: Hervald Strom's endurance is legendary, allowing him to emerge victor of the 813th Feast of Blades despite his greivous wounds. He has the Feel no Pain special rule.
No Foe Too Great: Hervald Strom automatically passes any No Retreat! saves allocated to him.
Not too overpowered is he?

That is one very good looking model, he looks beefed up! And a very nice paint job to boot!

the only thing I don`t like is the sword and everything else looks really cool
THe World of Warhammer 40k is NEo-Keynesisms Wet Dream
Lookin' good there, Raeho! Lovin' the wrist guard...
C'mon, y'know ye wanna do OSL on that sword ^^
I'm not OCD enough to OSL, though I do want to make the sword look prettier. Doing Strom again made me realize how terrible I am at doing that chapter symbol though, straight lines confuse me. A couple of parts (the head and right shoulderpad) were removed from the Emperor's Champion model, courtesy of easternheretic.
I got an airbrush a couple of days ago (finally) and I'm trying it out on a Grey Knight Land Raider, because I only ever painted two tanks for them in eight years, though I'm also working on my other Deathwatch character, who I shall nickname "More Dakka", hopefully I'll get pictures of both up in a couple of days.
I see the head I lopped off for you as well as the shoulder pad. Nice looking chapter master/captain/champion/honour guard (?).
Maybe you can go for that crystal sword effect they showed on WD to beautify the blade? The wrist guard would look cool with a freehand as well.
Looking forward to your uber dakka deathwatch, and the tanks.
Cheers.

Wow, he looks great! Could you post a list of the bits used? I can see the EC bits, the DA sword and the terminator shield but the chest, eagle pad and wrist guard are annoyingly familiar and I just can't place them.. Also, how did you go about painting the gold on this chap?
A Heroic pose to say the least!![]()

MY Flesh Tearers WIP thread
Ork Blood Axes - A Massacre in the making
Bits list for Strom:
Head: Emperor's Champion, sawed off by easternheretic
Shoulderpads: Right one is from Sevrin Loth, left one is from the Emperor's Champion
Torso: Red Scorpions honor guard
Tabard: Company champion torso
Shield: Masters of the chapter
Sword: Ravenwing sprue
Sword arm: Death company sprue
Shield arm: Power axe arm from the Assault Squad box
Bracer: Mk3 Iron Armor
Legs: Kneeling legs and regular standing legs, both mk6
The gold is mithril silver, then washed with gryphonne sepia, and then with devlan mud, easy!
@aghast: I like to think of his pose as the "pre-asskicking come get some" pose
