Hey all,
This is my first Thread on warseer and in fact it commorates my first ever warhammer army, the high elves.
Having spent a fair bit of time studying all the fluff I could find on the high elves, I have decided to theme this force heavily on the region of caledor in southern ulthuan.
imrik, last heir to Caledor Dragontamer and high prince of caledor believes that to simply defend ulthuan by sitting idle is folly. And men such as finubar the sea-wife and tyrion – the “maiden” guardian of ulthuan would see their home sink to the depths of the sea with the their arrogance. For to imrik, if the elves are to have any hope of surving this coming storm of chaos they must sally forth from their homes and take the fight to old world and the realm of chaos itself. Rooting out the beasts and deamons of this world once and for all rather than letting them desecrate the sacred sands of ulthuan. For imrik, greater glories lie out in the world championing the cause of the righteous .If tyrion wants the glory of nurse-maiding ulthuan then fine, more glory for imrik and for caledor!
To this end, Imrik has sent out his mighty hosts to the far corners of the world in the hopes of delivering ulthuan and of course mighty caledor from the jaws of defeat at the hand of the ruineous powers. One such host is lead by Imrik’s second in command and great friend, Belanor Flametreader.
Belanor was born under dubious means to his mother a caledorian mage named Dreala, during her captivity in the dungeons of naggrond in the land chill. Through her own valor and courage she managed to escape with her ill begotten son back to caledor. There despite his social stigma of half druchii blood, Belanor was able to rise through the ranks of the caledorian army through sheer force of skill and charisma until one fateful day when he saved the then-young prince imrik from a pack of chaos taineted blood drakes high in the peaks of caledor. From that day on the pair were inseperable and soon a greatfriendship flourished. When enevitably Imrik took the throne of caledor, his first act was to appoint his longtime friend and skilled leaderBelanor to postion of high general of the hosts of caledor. To this day no one knows how Dralea escaped from naggaroth, however ther are wispers that to her Druchii captors she was forced to give another son, and that perhaps even now, belanor has a brother in the dreaded land of chill….
Of course, what would a high elf force be without special choices. So without further pause…
The Dragon knights of House Caledor
I found it silly to have whole units of princes on the field under the command of a high elf NOBLE so for fluf reasons I have changed these guys to the house knights of the house of Caledor dragontamer.
To support the knights, I have some of the beautiful new Phoenix guard hoever for the purpose of this force they are the house guards of prince Imrik, or Dragon guards, I haven’t quite decided if I want to convert the heads of not to more reflect dragons or not so for the time being, the wings stay. I wanted to give the long chain skirts the look of ruby dragon scales to denote their status as the greates unmounted defenders of the realm.
Finaly is the test miniature for the Sword masters of hoeth.
These guy will be exactly what they are swordmasters. The way I figure it, not all swordmasers are from saphery and infact are recruited from all across ulthuan. Furthermore, caledorians being some of the greatest warriors of ulthuan would doubtlessly make up a significant portion of the warrior scholars of hoeth. In keeping with the fact that these caledorians have sworn oths to defend the white tower, their armor and robes are the blue and white of the rest of ulthuan, however they have honored their caledorian heiritage in the choice of using dragonfire emeralds to adorn their armor.
The way I figure it, these guys have been seconded to the command of belanor to aid several of belanors closesest friends who have come to aid him on his quest to combat chaos in ethel Arvin. Who will make an appearance later on in this log…..
My count as Lothern sea guard, the royal dragoons of Caledor
the mountainous region of caledor has seen many a battleline thrown into disaray and to this end were the dragoons of caledor born. trained in both bow and spear, the dragoons of caledor can adapt to any srole neccesary of them in the tight mountain passes of the region of their birth, where long battle line of spears with ranks of archers far to the rear would be combersome to wield at best but disasterous to employ at worst.
I plan to use an unconverted unit of 20 of these stalwart troops to alow my list to be flexible in many battles. (unconverted cause i like the models)
Well, that’s it for now, please respond as im very unsure about my paint schemes and unit choices and fluff to boot. All comments are welcome please..
Cheers
For Caledor
