Red face Sci-Fi Paint log of doom Eldar beer and the Mastersonss

So recently we started playing 40K again after a long absence - and I have a confession. I love 5th edition.

So I have been playing with my disparate force of Eldar and wondering if I should switch to Dark Eldar as I have only painted 6 Eldar and half painted 4 more. Motivation seems a factor or maybe they are fiddly. Then I painted some Dark Eldar for our FLGS! (Shout out: http://www.aargonhobbies.co.nz/)

This made me pretty certain as fiddly as the Dire Avengers (which I sulkily put away in a box) are they have nothing on Dark Eldar kabalites!

Anyhoo...This is what I painted so far help me decide which way to go?

Iybraesil Eldar: Not a fan of the Navy face plates so I opted for black and White.

For my Dark Eldar I chose a scheme similar to the Obsidian Rose Kabal but as usual as bright as possible!

    Close up

Close ups are evil. But I will leave them in so you can see how I like to work and use the "2' Principle"™ wherever possible.

I am loving the blue on you're Eldar! Judging on paint schemes alone, I say get cracking on your craftworlders!

I must add,it's also great to see an individual scheme on those dark eldar, and the cloth colour you've used to contrast with the red is ace.

On balance I'd still vote for eldar but you're winning either way! Also, if you're into forge world stuff they've just released some mouthwateringly good aspect warriors, check it out!

Well... that's one vote for Blue Team.

Looking very good here man. I love the red on the DE. I love less how quickly you seem to paint. JEALOUSY!

HAH I am not fast at all. These are a couple of months work. I just don't update very regularly. 2011 it's my new goal as I will be more "time-poor". The Eldar took me week. The Dark Eldar which was ten troops, the raider and three reavers was two and half weeks. I had a deadline so that helped!

What is the orange that you used to highlight your DE?

Well most of the highlights are blood red. The lighter bits are blood red and blazing orange. I love blazing orange almost as much as I love hawk turquoise.

Good start. Any chance of a better shot of the spear wielder for the DE warriors?

Cool I thought it was mounted on a reaver bike front. Nice idea.

Very nice looking Eldar, of both shades and I think i prefer the DE at a push although the Eldar scheme has real potential.

Thanks! Think I might paint one up of either faction and see which I prefer as they were both done with a gap between before so that will help iron out painting processes!
