Hey all, This is a ressurection of an old project I never got round to finishing... with some more time on my hands then before so I've picked up the old brush and have started on this again. I've decided to start a new thread as this is a total overhaul.. a few models have only received a touch up but the rest of the box is going to be totally re-painted.
Here are the first few pieces, am now working on finishing off the vast mahority of the night goblins.. experimenting with batch painting.
The watchwords for this project is Clean and Understated. The theme for both armies is naturalism and a lack of ornamentation. The night goblins are clad in dirty tatty brown robes (always wondered where goblins would get jet black dye from) simple rusted metal for weapons and carved wooden shields. Leaders and higer ranking goblins will have red robes and sigils and patterns daubed sparingly in bright yellow (fungus dye)
The dwarfs are going to appear work-like and functional, simple leather robes and owrn but well kept steel ... with stiffened leather armour and shields. I also want to limit the amount of gold the dwarfs are carrying, limiting to little trinkits and the odd medallion. anyways enough from me here are the pics.
By the way I'm limited to a camera phone at the moment .. hopefully I'll be able to take some better pics on my Housemate's's flashy one when I can sneak into his room
Night goblin command, this is a pretty good indication of what the rest of the rest of the gobbos will look like
Night Goblin Big Boss, the squig is painted to match the other bits of fungus dotted around the army, for example on the banner top
Troll, not much to say though I went for the natural look
