This looks totally ridiculously cool. I think you've put the very definition of Aethersail there. How did you paint that?
I like the engines a lot too, they seem to emit radioactive waste which is a good thing.
I hope you'll paint a lot more of those, it looks awesome!

In response to the sail, I made a decal for it rather than hand paint it.

And yes there is a bit of a grizzly undercoat, but that's only in 2 areas of the model. I thought it would smooth out as I was painting it, but alas it didn't and it was too late at that point. I have so much more on my table I didn't feel like going back and sanding / repaint after I got so far with it. :P

I'm blown away by your sails. Could you elaborate a bit on how you printed the decals? I.e. where did you get the decal sheet from and what software did you use to create the mesh effect? Hope I'm not being too nosey!

For all those that ask about how I make my Sails for the Raider and Ravager, here's the quick version:

I started by making a tracing of the sail shapes. After I made the tracing, I scanned it in and redrew the tracing in Adobe Illustrator. I then further illustrated the mesh pattern and my own custom DE Glyphs.

Once I was done illustrating the individual sails, they look like this:


I then took them set them up on a 8.5x11 sheet of paper and printed them with a color laser printer on this decal paper:

After printing I follwed the instructions that came with the decal paper, and viola! Home made decals for my all my raider

Even without using a brush for those it's genius. I'm not good with illustrator or any program like that but I'll keep the idea in mind!

I won't be original. The aethersails are awsome. There's so many tools and techniques we can look up from finescale modellers.
