    Re: World War Z

Jihads reminded me I've had this on my desk for a day or two now...

Still need to do the eyes as she's looking a little Storm from X men at the moment. I've also done a US marine core tatto but its a bit cack so I'll do that again at some point soon.

So there you go, a double helping of Z hunter goodness. I'm trying to think of some witty double entendres, but as I'm suppose to be at work right now I'm a little stuffed for time.. Bah it'll do

Fran looks awesome Jihad! Though she will look better with the shell cases .

Gomez, your lady looks great too. I is that a bit of the slot on the base visible by her front foot?

Keep up the good work chaps!

I'm really liking what you guys are doing. I have yet to see the Walking Dead. The trailers look good though.

I have often looked at the Hasselfree figures. They are great and I need to pick some up. Somehow other projects seem to soak up all my cash.

Keep it up. The fluff especially is great.

I'm quite aware of how unlooked-for advice is usually taken, but in the interest of being helpful I'd like to direct your attention here. The site is the work of a fellow named Tommygun who posts here on Warseer and it contains a large selection of papercraft scenery items. Many of the smaller items (ammo cases, pizza boxes, vending machines, etc.) as well as some of the buildings would be perfect for your setting once you get to the scenery stage.

Please let me know if I've overstepped and I'll willingly shut up.

Excellent stuff guys, Fran is just ace, I can just imagine her calmly reloading that shotgun as the zombies charge down the street towards her. The zombies are looking suitably horrifying, I certainly wouldn't want them anywhere near me! I can't want to see how Hugh turns out too. Something you both seem to be doing very well is the skin tones, very lifelike. Keep it up guys!

Fran is very very impressive - you going to go back and do a similar trim on the hoodlum's jackets?

Loving the black officer, the riot policeman and model for the Isolationist. Could we get a closer look at the zombies at some point?

EDIT: And more fluff!, the backstory really really helps the connection with the miniature.

    Re: World War Z

SSG - Any advice or recommendations are warmly received here, mate! I too am a fan of Tommygun's work - I'd forgotten about these templates tho. Thank you for posting them up - should I get around to wanting some buildings I will happily use them.

madd0ct0r - Thank you for the kind words! I hadn't thought of it but upon reflection I may well go back and blackline the other jackets. Victim of my own success...

fluffy05 - Thanks for the links! Hadn't seen that CDC one, gives me some food for thought for fluff....

There was a request for more zombie lovin' - I've cut together two different phots so you get more of a group shot. Currently 27 zombies painted up with 15 more WIP. I'm planning to pick up some 'character' zeds too:

I don't remember much about how it started - you gotta remember that the army wasn't called out until . . . Well, until things had got pretty bad. There were stories about a hospital 'hostage situation', ' cept we all know what really happened to the 'hostages.' Lotta deaths, lotta bites and then the bitten cops went home to their loved ones and passed the ol' last dance to their nearest n dearest. Alot of the bites were slow burners, that's what they ended up getting called. You didn't always have to get bitten to catch it, and it didn't always kill the carrier until they'd swapped some good ol' fluids with some other poor ****ard. That's why the zeds started to pop up all over.

Interview with Corporal K found among Will No-Hope's papers.

And a group shot of my survivors too - I've done more work to Officer Rhames but you probably can't make that out here. I would like to add two female members to this team before I call them done.

Don't intend anybody to read this unless it's found. My name is Aldo Rhames and I'm a police officer. It's been a week since I got out of the station - we were keeping the 'subjects' in the cells but they got out when the power failed. Arrested two kids for looting but nowhere to put them after that - they're still with me. Kev and Baker - don't trust them but they're good at finding us food.

Some crazy old lady tried to shoot me - my uniform saved me before she managed it. Mean looking shotgun - not as mean as her though. Fran - she keeps the kids in line.

One thing more - ran into a soldier. Not National Guard but can't tell much else - doesn't talk much. Kovacs? He was walking down the street - walkers following him when we showed up. Think he's lost it. But we need the guns.

Hope you like! For the future I'm hoping to start a separate gang of survivors, a bit more themed towards the bandits in the original Dawn of the Dead. I have some figures in the pipeline and I know that Gomez has some nice stuff coming too. Thank you all for looking!

I just picked up AMbush Alley Games - Force on Force rule book and it is excellent (printed by Osprey Publishing)

Ambush Z is coming out from them soon (from Osprey Publishing). You can get the rules in the current format still as downloads (and maybe books?)

I started collecting 20mm Modern miniatures but this blog is making me rethink to 28mm :P

    Happy Gaming,

Thank you for all the hard work everyone here has done. The models are amazing and the story lines just keep hooking you in. I love Fran so much. I would love to see her sitting in a rocking chair picking off Zed's calmly while being ankle deep in spent shells. =o]

    Can't wait to see more.

I like zombie mob 3 the best. Why are mob 4 all leaning to the right, dancing to thriller?

Ok, I'm probably going to get an earful for this, but someone please tell me that Zombie Mob 6 is not based on the cast of Scrubs.
Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

    Re: World War Z

Hi all - just a quick update from me

I've not been having a great time of things recently - the hayfevers killing me and I feel like I've got tons of work to do. Jihad has a pile of zombie hunters to paint (heh), and whilst I've got stacks of adventurers to paint I'm not motivated at all. I could probably finish four if I put my mind to it, but I wouldn't be happy with them and thats not what this log has been about - I'm not going to short change myself at this point.

So consider this an apology - we're not dead, we appreciated and get stoked by all the comments and ideas, but its one of those things where theres just so much other stuff going on.

MADDOCTOR - Thanks bud, we're trying to keep it interesting and hopefully build a story for some cool gaming.

MOMUS - I'm going to chat with Jihad about it, but maybe a tale of painters style 'zombie off' for next year could be cool as theres been a fair amount of interest. How Mrs Addams will feel about hosting this meeting of zombie nerdness is another matter entirely...

STEAM_GIANT - Quite awhile unfortunately. Jihad lives north of the border whilst I live in the Midlands, but Jihad plans to move to old london town soon and I have dreams of moving to Manchester in a truly epic game of musical houses! I still actually have to build the board as well. I've drawn up dozens of plans, sketches, ideas, and I keep scrapping it and starting again. Within the next 12 months doesn't sound too unreasonable.

PARIAH ZERO - Cheers bud, we'll try too once things settle down.

FABRICATORGENERALMIKE - No problem at all Its nice to know we're appreciated.

    POINTYTEETH - Thanks for commenting

THREEWOLFTATS - I saw them a few months back (they do a lovely whatsherface from resident evil). I quite like mobs 2 and 5. I think Jihad was after the scrubs set though so might have to go halfsies. I do know Jihad's churning out a whopping 60 zombies though, so I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to do any more.
