Check out darkage minitures

Darkage have some models which would be ok for Raiders and the like but there are much cheaper options from other companies.
Just got some em4 guys myself, very pretty. Came pre-undercoated, too!
A slight shame brother vinni is f3 inspired and not the true series. But still, very cool to finally have *something* Fallout inspired.
Can't believe either Interplay or Bethesda haven't done it a long time ago really.
A model of the "true series" as you put it would be a pixellated blobYou old vaulters need to accept FO3 and NV are great games and hugely broadened the franchise's appeal.

There's the cut scenes, you can see what they should look like. FO3 was decent until the silly end and FNV had a very good feel to it. I don't dislike the new fallouts at all.
We are in the process of "3d-ing" the old fallout for our F1&2 MMO, its often crossed my mind that those 3d models would be great if they were put through the 3d printing magic.
Shame the whole process would be sued to oblivion!
Ha, unintentional
I'm sure oceans of the internet are dedicated to the plot holes, don't think I need to derail your thread on the subject.
I hope they are going to expand their range though, even if they weren't Fallout they are pretty high quality.
I like NV, but F3 was pretty bad. Stop for a moment and think about Little Lamplight, for example. It's completely nonsensical. And as a fan of the originals, it sticks in my craw that F3 just lifted the plot from F1 and the factions from F2, made the Brotherhood into THE GOOD GUYS, and called it job done without a shred of originality.
Sorry to derail the thread though. It does look like fun gaming, and some of those minis are pretty cool.
Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game, after that I played New Vegas. Now, when my ps3 has stopped working, I'm fighting my way through the first two and have to admit that they're fun in their own way - just like NV and FO3.
The Fallout 3 plot was epic, and the fact that you have a defined character with an actual "have-to"(like the first two) encourages the plot.. Saving the wasteland - noble enough for me
Arefu, Megaton, Rivet City and foremost Little Lamplight are my favorite towns, and FV had none of their originality - while it had lots of things done better, though not the main plot.
Revenge is fine, until you have killed Benny - then it's like "Why should I help them... It's not like I have to..." etc.etc.
You're just not motivated enough, and that makes the game boring.
Fallout had however a very mean have to, the 200 days - I never make it ^^
Fallout 2 is great fun, more weapons, more towns etc, but I think it would be better in 3d.
Also, the Brotherhood... They didn't change the Brotherhood... They changed a part of it. The Eastcoast BoS is by far my favorite so far (not least because they've saved my low-level ass more times than I care to remember. Mirelurks are nasty when you're out of ammo and lvl2...)
Their whole organisation brings life to the game, and presents the "black-or-white" concept they sold in with that game(I'm pretty proud of myself, level 24 and still neutral)
End of rant![]()

Little Lamplight is nonsensical, I agree.
But so what if FO3 had a waters based plot like FO1? At the end of the day FNV is also based around water. And like Hrokka I feel the plot and story to 3 was stronger. You would actually care about your father and his mission. In NV once you kill Benny it kind of feels like "Game Over".
FO3 also had a better, more open to explore wasteland. NV tends to corral you onto a couple of highways, what with the mountains and nasty critters.
I used to crest a hill in FO3 and see something on the horizon and think "I'll just go check that out, then I'll go to bed" (at about 4am). I missed that in NV, it was much more enclosed.
However NV had stronger factions, settlements and effect of actions.
Anyway, back to tabletop Fallout! I'm hoping to playtest a few more games this week and then post up my ruleset, that is if anyone is interested?![]()
F1+2 good in their own way?! My head nearly exploded![]()
The 3d f2 critters can look good. They don't have to look like blobs (I'll link one tomorrow, on mobile at the moment)
Penguin, is your ruleset somewhere? How close to the games is it? It should definitely be a d20 game!
Basic nuts and bolts of combat are roll equal to or less than perception/strength for ranged/melee combat. Roll hit location (body part). Roll armour save. Apply damage to endurance.
Sounds interesting, I for one will keep an eye out to see what you come up with.![]()
I think that's the case for everyone who prefers F3. One of the things about the series is that it sucks you in from wherever you start. I first played F2 in 1999, and that remains my favorite of the series.
@emperorpenguin: I'm definitely interested in seeing the rules you've come up with. I'm not into 40k or Necromunda, but Fallout skirmish gaming could be a good time (if I had any models for it, that is...). I love seeing the stuff you guys are putting together!
