Blending with juices. Basically lots of layers with really thin paint.

    Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan

Thanks for all your comments. Now I need some help.
I've received a Wraithlord as a present and made a quick build about how I'd basically imagine the pose, but I think it turned out less dynamic than I wished to. I think of cutting off the shoulder-pads and rotate them a bit around the axis of the shoulder to allow the arms to get a bit higher. I'd also wish to get the left leg a bit higher, but that causes massive problems at the hollow of the knee.
I'm also not sure if I should switch the Missile Launcher and the flamer on the shoulder mounts, but that would lead to the problem that the Missile Launcher targets into a totally different direction than the Wraithlord itself.

In case you know some solutions or have ideas, let me know!

I really love the classic colours, please say you're going to stick with the green flock/goblin green edged bases and paint a bit of red on every model no matter how gratuitous .

I can promise to paint a bit of red on every model, but I can't promise to stay with the goblin green bases. Basically the green ones are the old style and I am a bit overfed of it. The current style is more like the fire dragons. Grey dust, little rocks, some grass and some kind of temple plating.

@Kresterz: Nice. Got no idea how to solve my "uncomfortabilities"?

I think that if you reposition the right leg in such a way that he's leaning more in to the pose (Is that clear in any way?), he should be just fine.

A bit more forward leaned and the foot a bit more on the ball of the foot, ah? To make it look more like running... It probably can give me headache for the gluing/greenstuffing, but I guess I'll try that. Thanks.

I think if you bring the left leg up and round a bit it should help. That I reckon will conpensate for the body seating upright. Perhaps position the right elbow up a bit too. Smashing blog.

So, here comes a bit of an update...
Sorry for the blurred pictures, dunno what exactly went wrong this time.

That's some seriously old school painting! Looking great, takes me back to my early days when I had just gotten into the hobby with Eldar.

Nice, classic Eldar models with nice, classic paintjobs. I miss those stubby little shuriken catapults and the lack of easily broken sensor pod things on the back.

    Wow, these are very nice.

The green bases make me wish I didn't re-do my bases from Goblin Green to the brown I use now.

    Re: Craftworld Ynn'eal Tan

Well, you asked people to be gentle with you regarding the early models, but I refuse. They are AWESOME! They look like they came straight out of the pages of White Dwarf or a second edition codex.

The new models are amazing. Your painting skills (already good) have clearly kept improving over the years. The Farseer's blade is great, and the Fire Dragons are marvellous. You're one of the reasons I think I could never start an Eldar army

LOL, those catapults are revolvers... But they look very classy and those sensor pods are pre-broken saving me a lot of trouble

    I love that retro scheme

@spaint2k: Thanks a lot. Never give up yourself though. If you want it, keep trying, read articles and try to use the techniques. It just requires time.

    @Kresterz: Thanks.

I got some Shadow Spectres and started cleansing the sprues. Boy, they are a HUGE mess. I made pictures all over the process, will see what I can do today and will post some progress gallery soon.
(And damn, I also received Hornets, they are a lot bigger than Vypers, I really did not expect that!)

I can sill remebre the time when i painted my bases in such a horrible way!
The Dire Avengers themselves look great though and i actualy still like those old style models too. A colourscheme like this on a modern army would also look prety awesome.
