Looks great! Mismatched horns for the win. Your palette is deceptively simple, yet it unifies the varied models well.

If you are open to suggestions, the converted oblit could benefit if the 'chin horn' on the spawn head was sculpted to blend in to the body like an obscene tube. But just my thoughts, looks cool already!

Thank you. The oblit suggestion came too late, it's very hard to get in there when the arms are in place. The obliterators are midway through painting.

I'm reading the Siege of Vraks atm, and since they mention beastmen, and me being such an impressionable lad, I was inspired to start converting.

He'll get his backpack after painting. This is a bit of a bits box extravaganza, using bits from at least six different boxes, the newest one being the 8 year old beast herd box...

    Congrats dude

Oblits turned so cool, espeсially flesh(muscles?) color, it looks just nice with the rest of palett.
As about my last comment about a skull on knee pad: well, it's just the only kind of conversion, that I really could do nowadays.

    On the beastmen guy:
    why so serious?
The best beastmen with bolter on warseer, IMO, I'll steal the gasmask idea
plastic bolter is definitely very old, but it's ace, from which edition(box/blister?) you get it?
RIP Specialist Games, RIP Games Workshop, I need some pennyroyal tea....

Looks like a boltgun from the old two-pose box of Chaos Marines, one of which is the basis for Mrtn's mismatched horns guy on the previous page.

Must say Obliterators look excellent, the muted tones really convey a sense of their parts melting together. And why does the addition of a gas mask make a beastmen head look so much angrier?

    Thanks guys!

I think the bolter came from one of the two generic CSM plastic sprues with arms, bolter, boltpistol and shoulder pads you got with a lot of the older CSM kits, the older plague marines for instance.

Looking very good indeed. I like the muted and limited palette.

    Thanks mate!
Next on the painting table is some havocs and the beastman.
But, there's not only beastmen in space, but also pirates!
    Arr!

This is yet another case of me converting something very old, in this case the sergeant of the monopose space marines that's got a new head and a modified backpack. The previous owner tried a way to paint faces on the model, that's the reason for the curious priming.

This is all good. Great job on the Obliterators. The more I look at this log the more I want to go Nurgle. Keep it up!

Will they be gracing some tournament tables anytime soon, mrtn?

Probably not, I've only played 4 games in my life, so I don't really feel I would belong...

Thank you. He'll join my other guys, so the same scheme, but without the purple blotches, probably. I'm working on some havocs (probably not the most efficient, but cool old models), and they need some non-special-weapon guys.

Finished a batch of Chaos Havocs, including the space beastman.

I'm sure someone will tell me it isn't the optimal load-out for havocs, but they're cool, especially the heavy bolter is one of the coolest chaos marines EVAR. And I can always hope that the lascannon will be cheaper in the next codex.

Looking great, especially the space beastman. I agree that the loadout looks really cool. Have you had a chance to get a game in yet?
Plog of Jericho - Wood Elves, Daemons, Beastmen, CSM and Whatnot.

House: Yeah, 'cause I worship Santa. Or wait, is that Satan? I always get them mixed up.

Re: mrtn's dirty rotters (Plague Marines)

Thank you. No, I haven't even tried my obliterators yet. I was supposed to get a game in last Sunday, but my opponent had to stay home with a sick son instead.

I've played a few games with my carnival of chaos though, we're playing a Bordertown Burning campaign, there's pics of those in my other log.

Really great conversions Mrtn! I like the space beastman, I think they always will be a part of chaos wherever they are fighting.
Your havocs are absolutely cool. I adore the metal models as well, but your conversions are as good as they are. How do you play those guys in this codex?
Keep up the fantastic work man

    Hi !

I really like your Nurgle's army, and the way you put "old school" miniatures with the news. Really great job.

However, one question : I'd like to begin a Nurgle's army too, so can you explain how you have paint them ? It'll be my first true army, so give me (us?) all the details

btw, do you plan to add some plaguebearers ? if yes, will you use the old minis ? or build your own ?

Sorry for my bad English (I'm French) and Thanks in advance.

Thank you, and welcome to Warseer. Don't worry about your English, it's quite alright.

The armour is base coated beige and then heavily drybrushed with Vallejo Bone White. Then it's washed with watered down Devlan Mud and Thraka Green, and the fleshy parts washed with very watered down Leviathan Purple. Anything else you wonder about just ask.

My first two plague bearers was finished today, I have five others of the old sculpts. I finished the space pirate as well.

I've experimented with gloss varnish on the open wounds.
