Love the Valkyrie Sky Talon. Hazard stripes are excellent...I only did mine on the bottoms of the landing gear because they do take a long time to get right.
Cheers,

Hi Mate,
First of All grats on the job, I really love your painting !
I am considering buying some elysians too, but I have a small doubt as regard the weapons, can you easily changed them ? For instance, it seems some of yours do not have the standard Famas Style Gun, was it easy to custom ?
Thx for your input & we need more photos![]()
All your minis are extremely well painted but the Sky talon is simply fantastic.
My project log: To Infinity and Beyond
Thanks Captain, your old resin valkyries inspired me to start Elysians when I saw them several years ago!
Thanks! And no, I wouldn't say the guns are easy to swap if you want to do a decent job of it. The guns are modeled to the trigger arm with the left hand modeled on to the guns grip. If you wanted to swap guns you would have to file away most of the gun stock and trigger area from the trigger arm and the hollow out the left hand holding the grip without damaging it to perform a perfect swap. I've done this several times (you can see on my old melta gun vets two of these conversions) and they are slightly time consuming.
Thank you sir!
First SWS squad is done! 2 flamers and a demo charge. I forgot to take close ups as I was in a hurry but each one got some love. I'm also working on a company commander that is suitably flashy (hint: remember that Krieg gamesday figure I chopped up a while ago? ) and that will be done soon. After that I'll reveal the super secret ongoing project that keeps distracting me. and well get to work on some more vehicles/infantry. HORAY! Sorry for the wierd focus on the images....its my girlfriends super nice super complicated camera and I'm a gw hobbyist not a photographer...Ill get them in focus in the solo shots....
Sidenote: does anyone know how to delete the poll in my blog? Is it even possible? Thanks!
Until lata!

They look fantastic. As I look at the pictures I picture them in the middle of a snow storm, it's great when your painting\modeling evokes an image of a scene as well as just beautifully painted minis.
There is some love on those mini, dear god, they just look awsome xD
Thanks I'm trying to!
Thanks man!
Haha that's probably because I don't know how to properly use the exposure settings on my GF's camera but I'm learning- thanks for checking out my plog.
I do love them...it is my gift and my curse...since it takes me forever to paint. I always envy some of those on warseer that seem to whip out my standard of painting no problem. Slow and steady I guess....
OK: Updates:
First a detail shot of my first squad to show my plans. All have a campaign badge from this squad to give them a little history. The red shoulder pads denote special weapons-trained soldiers (consistent with IA: 11 elysian fluff). I'm trying to stay to a fairly limited pallet so most accents are either red, blue or brown. Simplicity for sanity's sake!
Next is a company commander! A big deal for me as I've NEVER COMPLETELY PAINTED AN HQ CHOICE...ok so technically hes not quite complete because he needs a command squad but for now I can always field him as an HQ drop commissar and get away with it. Also you'll probably notice his horse....erm.....about that.....again not legal. But its cool to have stuck up snobby leadership ordering men to the front from horseback.
Double stripes! Better say sir....
Notice his binoculars. He does not plan on going anywhere near the battlefield. Alot of fun to paint and a simple conversion from one of my 2 gamesday mounted commissars (don't freak out Krieg players: I'm keeping the second wholesome for my Krieg rough rider allies I will one day be adding)
Group love (sorry need to figure out this camera exposure stuff.......
And thats it!!
.
.
.
Oh wait- forgot: super secret project teaser number 2: "Get 'em 'Nemo!'"
Next on the list and in various stages of completion: some sentinels, a Heavy bolter squad and maybe my first infantry platoon. Laterz!

HOLY CRAP. That Commissar is down right amazing. And I really hope thats an Elysian Titan........... AMG I'm so excited! Seriously though, the work on that commissar is really, really impressive and inspiring.
The colour scheme is growing on me for the infantry, although I do feel that the highlighting is extremely harsh.
Is it wrong that I'm disappointed you're doing a titan instead of more things that go zoom and make Tom Cruise have a wet dream?
I know I wasn't so sure about the highlighting at first either...but I kind of like it now after painting it more. Sure its not completely realistic...but it does make the armor pieces pop a little (and ties the snow theme together). And don't worry! I have more flyers on the horizon. IA:11 makes it clear why "Nemo" is here. I have an elysian reserve scout army...."Nemo" is also a scout and one of my favorite models in the 40k universe. I plan on having two centerpieces to my army one day: a titan and a heavy flyer. Right now Im leaning towards a marauder bomber (I just love the rear turret) but honestly I'm hoping that forgeworld designs a new heavy bomber/fighter as the marauders both look a little dated for me. I need to be completely sold on a model before I dedicate that much time to painting it. Maybe by the time I finish a playable army the suits in GW or Forgeworld will have come up with something a little cooler. Would love some kind of heavy drop ship or transport....

Indeed; the Destrier mentioned from the Last Chances novels sounds like it could be a nice model to see. I'm imagining something possibly on the scale of a Thunderhawk or Flying Gorgon, capable of carrying a platoon into battle.
As for a new fighter; there is the A10, I mean, the Avenger. Just a shame there's no option for Punisher Cannons on it - although you could always count them as Autocannons instead. The Marauder Destroyer is one of my favourite models, although yes it is sadly a little old.

Lets drag this log out of the dark, kicking and screaming if need be.
Its been a busy 4 months. I have been working on models and this update will serve as a placeholder until I get some proper pictures. The warhound is 90 percent of the way there but I don't want to take photos until I can finally call it done. In the meantime I have painted a platoon command squad and an infantry squad to go with the sws you saw above. I've also gotten started on elements of the company command squad, which will include a heavy bolter team, a sniper, a nifty converted medic and a huge-ass banner. I'm also 90 percent of the way completed on a pair of mm drop sentinels to go with the first platoon.
But my favorite model so far to do has been a drop commmissar. Technically he's not strictly legal as anything except a lord commie (since he has a power fist). I'm probably going to just leave it as a "counts as" close combat weapon and attach him to my second platoon blob infantry squad, but the fit of the Elysian powerfist was just to perfect not to use. My girlfriend was futzing around with a new camera lens and was kind enough to quickly snap a few shots of my stuff while I was working. Keep in mind they are very much paint in progress.
Conversion parts: Forgeworld enforcer, elysian boots, Assault marine bolt pistol, Cadian rebreather head, Death Korps commissar hat, elysian powerfist.
First infantry squad. Again red shoulder pad is special weapon according to IA:11. Very basic squad with only a vox and a demo charge. Ignore the guy with the pistol, hes actually part of Platoon command squad.
Platoon command squad. Still needs dullcoat and basing. The guy with the pistol is supposed to be in this squad and one of the lasgunners actually has markings to being in what will become the second infantry squad. Squad has a lascutter, vox and a platoon standard (will not count as a platoon standard in game, for heroic posing purposes only)
PiP drop sentinals. Im having alot of fun with these two. They should actually be done tonight.
Anyways most still need basing and I've been retweeking some bits to tie everything better together. All vehicles are getting a bit of purple glass on them in some place or another to tie them with the purple canopies and (future) plasma coils. Ill take pics of that when I finally get my desk cleared enough to get some decent pics.
Everyone have a great holiday and thanks for stopping in!
