My army commander, Captain Angelos. I have textured the hair but it cannot really be seen in this photograph, more pics when he is complete.

Outfitted with a wrist-mounted infernus pistol and power fist- 140pts.

Wow! Looking great so far. The gold on the sanguinary guard looks really neat, how did you do that? Is it just a basecoat with gold and then washes over it to make it look weathered??

Looking forward to the next update, keep up the good stuff!

Thanks man: Shining gold basecoat, then a watered down devlan wash, chaos black and dark flesh wash into recesses. Then a 60:40 skull white & regal blue wash, followed by 40:20:40 dark angels green: regal blue: skull white wash lightly applied on areas where the blue wash collected. Then i just re-highlighted the raised areas of armour with shining gold and then a few bestial brown glazes.

Nice work Sork, the paint jobs on the sang guard and the commander are brill!! the verdigris adds a lovely touch.

Last week I ordered the death guard boxed set for my white panthers marines to bolster my WIP Sternguards and to also make 5 vanguards, its a great kit and I feel it's lent itself very well for my custom vets.

here are some shots so far...

Next up is one of my bikers, this mini was in another thread of mine but i figured i should just re-upload it since the bike sergeant is almost done. I left the bikes painted silver to emphasize the fact that they have been fighting a prolonged campaign and haven't had the time to maintain their vehicles properly. I'll post pics of the sarge tomorrow.

Hmmm, you guys really do suffer from an unmotivated lack of replies. Both your armies look great, and especially on BBs termies the white is really smooth, on the earlier models the paint looked a bit thick as somebody pointed out. The sanguinary guard are great as well, and the Penal Legion trooper looks promising!

All in all, two really nice armies. Still, however, in both of them I think you could thin out your paints even more, or just be a little neater, e.g the helmet on the latest tactical marine which looks a bit rushed.

    Keep it up,
    BTB

Here's the rest of my Sanguinary guard as they stand at the moment, most are no way near completion but just to give a basic idea of where i'm going with the posing.

Ok guys so here's another update from me, I've been working on my scouts over the last few days and here is the finished squad. These poor fellows have been sitting in my box for nearly 4 years begging to be painted and I have finally managed to grant their wish LOL:
