    Re: Empire Knightly Orders

Blood dragons are a faction (bloodline of Abhorash) of vampires, the knights of blood keep used to be an order garding the border to Bretonnia. They are now called blood knights after being tested by Shaitaan, so are now part of the blood dragons. That is why it is a bit silly for them to be in a von carstein book, since blood lines fight each other.
The 7th and 8th edition army book will have almost the same information on the blood knights, like almost none. There is more to be found on blood dragons but they are and were not an empire order.

    Re: Empire Knightly Orders

Has anybody been able to check if the new Empire army book features any new knightly orders?

At least the demi-griffons seem to be a new feature - do they riders form an order of their own, or are they part of the other orders?

    Re: Empire Knightly Orders

There's a little tidbit in the latest WD about the new Demigryph Knights. Apparently only the minority of Knightly Orders can field Demigryphs and the Knights Griffon are the most famous Order to have them in their stables.

    Re: Empire Knightly Orders

Is there some actual fluff provided for those orders in the WD, or is it just paint jobs?

By coincidence, I flicked through a couple of pages in said WD yesterday in library, but did not happen to spot those. Time for a new visit tomorrow, I guess.

    Re: Empire Knightly Orders

I went through that WD article today, and have added relevant material to the posts in the beginning of the thread. I'll have to admit that it was surprisingly good article, though rather brief.

I presume that the mentioned Knights of the Gold Lion are the same as the previously known Order of Golden Lion, so I have combined the two of them into the same entry.

    Knights of the twin-tailed orb:
Knights of the twin tailed orb are followers of Sigmar, named after the twin tailed comet that heralded Sigmar's appearance among mortals. Like othe Sigmarite orders they are renowned for their zeal and fervour. They are also renowned for not allowing enemies to escape, perusing all enemies over the battle ground.

Yeah, I think Griefbringer already detailed them

The Knights of the Twin-Tailed Orb are fanatical templars who charge into battle with the religious intensity of a warrior priest.

    Re: Empire Knightly Orders

I have now added to the list three new orders mentioned briefly in the 8th edition army book, bringing the total of knightly orders listed to 40 in total. These new orders being:

    - Order of Ebon Sword (destroyed by dragon Malathrax)
    - Order of Glinting Steel (no details provided, but presented as fighting alongside White Wolves in a story)
    - Knights of the Shining Talon (famous for razorback-mounted knights)

Also on page 59 there is mention of sir Albrecht Valdorf, preceptor of the Righteous Lance. This sounds like it might be yet another knightly order.
