That's a great tree-making tutorial, glad you put up the link. I need to get me some of the birch seed pods!

Well I havn't gotten much done, but I did get around to making some magnetized spacers for my skirmash trays.

I've been needing to get to this for a long time. Still need to make a bunch of new trays though.

Alright, I'm anxious about screwing up the watch tower, but I have dove in. Taking a que from the tree tutorial on CMON I posted above somewhere, I "skinned" the tree with tissue paper soaked in watered down PVA glue.

It was a wet sticky mess, and a little frustrating, but I think its going to work out, thoughts anyone?

I have also gone through with some white modeling putty to cover holes and texture issues.

Ok, Finally finished up the watch tower.

But first in a classic round of procrastination. I Painted up the GW tree set.

Well, I was testing color schemes a bit. You will notice the lack of leaves, I need them as indiated below, and I dont mind the blasted evil look of The GW forest with no leaves on it.

Here is the tree on the display board

Wow, I am unbelievably jealous of your watchtower, you are quite the craftsman... it looks incredible! The texture of the bark looks very realistic, great job.

Thanks guys! While Craftsmen may be a bit too far. I am handy with tissue paper and glue...

I do have a couple more things planned, I want to paint something on the platform suface... compass? Elven Runes? any sugestions? And I also want to work some LED lights into the hollow parts.

In the mean time I need to finish up some movement trays and paint the treekin...

Here are some more of the game base and bolt connection. I made the little base so that I can use it as game terrain.

here is the based and a couple of the connection details

at some point I may try and put some LED lights in there.

    Fantastic log mate.
    So much originality/creativity.
I just love the big treeman and all the little sprites.
but for me the stag is the star of the show. great idea, really well done. Great result.
Love the mix of old and new models. Those maiden guard look really good as Woodies.

Thanks Harry! I really appreciate your feedback.

I so love the old models and I'm glad they can fit in with the newer ones without much work. There is just something about finally getting around to painting things I bought in my youth that is very satisfying. Which I'm sure you can relate too with all the work you have post in your Plogs!

I'm pretty happy with the stag rider, but I used the old inks on the stag itself and will eventually repaint the body with smoother highlighting, hopefully that will fit into the project list at some point

Well I've been getting a bit of painting done. The Treekin are mostly finishished (sorry no photos) and I started the Std bearer for the Glade Guard:

Sorry about the poor lighting. The painting is Defintly in progress, most of the base coats are on. Eyes need some work. The will nearly always have the banner of eternal flame and I plan to add a swirly flame motif to the banner.

Very nice, I like the thorny elven symbol you've done for the freehand design. I have been wondering myself how to decorate that BSB model, I like your alternative to painting the standard elven runes. You have spurred my grey cells into action on this matter, so thanks!

Thanks! I have a picture somewhere of some elses' model who painted the whole banner in overlapping leaves, wicch looked really sweet.

I also finsihed up the last treekin. Here is the unit

    Spotter, lol

The birds are from the new Dark Eldar Razor wing flock. I like them a lot and seam to make great WE bits/spites.
