My new year's resolution was to stop buying miniatures. Looking at my unpainted GW stuff, I have around a thousand hours of painting ahead of me, and that doesn't even include the time needed for cleaning, assembling, basing and undercoating.
This blog replaces my former Ork and Gretchin blog and will see me attempting to make headway into my sizeable ork collection.
The collection looks like this:
Aeronautica Imperialis: 11 aircraft, 3 tanks, 3 flak guns
BFG: 16 spaceships
Epic: 3000 points of feral orks, an unknown quantity of regular orks (EDIT: 209 stands, possibly as much as 6 to 7000 points)
40K: Around 365 models total, hundreds of infantry, 17 bikes, 8 deffkoptas, 4 grot tanks, 3 trukks, 6 killa kanz, 2 deff dredds, 2 battlewagons, 1 stompa and two fighters against a star destroyer?
I've decided to tackle the 40K collection in chunks of 250 points per month. This month has been quite productive so far with me beating this total but I'm also trying to make up for January which was a dead loss for the greenskins due to me finishing off some pieces for my Mentors and also completing a Chaos Dreadnought for my assembled-and-undercoated-but-unpainted Khorne berserkers.
This blog will start with the 40K stuff, but will eventually grow to encompass all four systems. The models for the other three systems will be painted as and when the muse takes me. I expect the AI stuff to be done sooner as it'll be a "quick win" for me.
This month's plan (includes January's 250 points):
Two squads of 12 slugga boyz, each with rokkit launcha and nob with power klaw and bosspole: 122 points each.
Big Mek with Kustom Force Field: 85 points
10 grots and runtherder: 40 points
3 Mega-armour nobz (1 with rokkit launcha, 1 with skorcha): 130 points
So far I've completed
One squad of sluggas
5 grots (yes, some of them were already done)
The rokkit launcha and nob from the second squad
I've also done two AI fightas and one of the grot bombs.
