Looking good there, really liking the simple but effective conversion of the chaos stars on the dread. The yellow striping is also very neat and well placed on the models. I've done some IW back some years ago, and I'd encourage you to try out washes with greens + black and purple + black, gives you a very gritty look, and darkens recesses nicely. I can link pics if you wish, but I'll refrain form doing any plugs.

Thanks a lot, I would really like to see those pics as that sounds really awesome. I like the idea of the IW's keeping their own armour, so that some have neatly polished armour and some have more worn and gritty depending on their taste (or in some case their squad leaders

)

Here's a pip of my daemon prince, I still need some highlighting here and there, and some more work on the sword.

I also started work on my 5 man plague marine squad, I want them to be death guard marines as I think it'd be a nice touch to have them in a dirtied up version of their pre heresy paint scheme. Also I believe the Iron Warriors is somewhat sceptical of cult marines except for khorne worshippers, and that explains why these are death guard as they are allies, trading their services for some sort of personal gain.

And finally I've slowly started work on my mk II and mk III suits, making a squad of chosen. These guys are the real deal, the actual traitors from the heresy, the really tough guys. The FW sets are amazing to work with, and the sm character conversion set is so cool !!!!

The plague marines are the old second edition ones, they're suffering from the usual 2nd ed. problem of being too short compared to newer sculpts but they're still awesome I think

Chrono: That is quite an army, I've seen it around before and I like it a lot ! The deamon prince is probably the coolest conversion of that model I've ever seen and I have wanted to do something similar ever since I saw it a few years ago(I have a dream of getting a DP metal model more and a plastic one too, and then go to town) I decided however that my DP should stay largely unconverted as I really like the model

Some great work going on here.

I'm becoming a big fan of the older metal DP and think it much more suited to Iron Warriors then the newer plastic one. (think I'll be getting one myself!)

And the FW minis are again perfect for IW chosen.

Lots of ideas for me to nick, er, I mean borrow here!!

Yeah the metal DP is great, and much more suited for 40k and also iron warriors than the plastic one. Although I'm considering buying a plastic one as well for extensive converting as it has some potential, but needs a lot of work.

I intend to keep it metal, I shaded the more organic looking areas with a flesh tone, and the entire model then got a baal red wash to give it a different tinge.
I like to see him as a being of living metal (like the T-1000 terminator from T2), a IW champion with the obliterator virus that have been exalted to daemon-hood, so he's kind of a daemon obliterator. I think that works quite well with the IW's background

I chose to give it a orange/yellow glow from the mouth, eyes, myzzle in the fist and the daemon face on the leg to represent him having a core of molten metal, which is something I saw on an obliterator model.

Hehe as I wrote above I took the easy road and paid for a pro account instead, damn you laziness !

I haven't bought it yet, so might be a while until I get around to it

I also got a great idea for a conversion today for one of my tech marines for my mechanicus/ Iron Hands army- But it's a secret for now, as I need to buy some Forge World stuff to do it

Sad to hear about your failure, I'd still like to see it though

I think he turned out well even though he didn't get to join the ranks of the glorious IVth legion, it's still one of the greatest and most creative conversions I've seen done with this kit
