    Napoleonic French

Like most people in these boards I have been playing and collecting GW games for quite some time. Recently however with the many quality plastic sets that cover the napoleonic period I finally decided to start collecting some pieces for my collection.
However, once I had my first battalion painted I quickly realised that I wanted to paint more...

So here is what I have been able to paint since autumn last year...

first of all my Commander in Chief, Achille Tallon:

wow - stunning diorama there, now you just need a few boxes of plastics to command

Not sure about the trim etc - bit shiny but there's no doubting the quality of your painting...

Great stuff, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this.

I quite like the shiny bits, helps things "pop" a little bit.

Welcome to the blackhole of Napoleonics Meraklis! Very nice job on your French, a very nice high command stand and your line infantry hold their own as well. Gold star on this one, keep up the good work!

    Subscribed!

I'm painting some 1812 Napoleonic French Line and Light Infantry battalions at the moment, myself. It's new ground for me and I'm very keen to see what others do with it.

Great looking minis! What model range did you use for the command staff? I have been looking for good high command models recently for 28mm

Great stuff Meraklis! That's a very nice collection.

Can I ask how you based generals of brigade and division, and what miniatures you used?

    Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they are the airfix (i think its the right company) 1:72 range I've got the kit upstairs. I never knew you could put such detail on things about 1.5cm tall :O awesome.

    Re: Napoleonic French

You would be wrong, they are not airfix, but Perry miniatures 28mm.

    Re: Napoleonic French

Thank you people for your kind comments!

All of my minis are from the Perry twins with the exception of the Old Guard grenadiers (victrix).

For infantry I use the General de Brigade ruleset so I base all infantry on a 15mm frontage and 20mm depth. For commanders I just use plasticard without caring for measurements. After all the ruleset I am using, Black Powder, does not place too much importance on base sizes.

Unfortunately for the time being due to the situation in Japan I had to leave the country and return at my parents place in Greece so I suppose it will be quite some time until my next update...

lets hope that nuclear crisis ends some time soon...
