Really excellent painting here. Top quality stuff - the dipped models look great too.

Beautiful figures, really nicely painted. I have 800 of the perry russians to plough through at the moment, and am going for a more massed look (ie simpler paint job )

The only thing I would say is that the Russian musketeers only have a single grenade plume on their cartridge boxes (straight up), the grenadiers have the triple like you have painted.

I do like the great coat roll colour you have used, may I ask what is it?
I do like the Prussians as well, I think the hair/moustache colour is very well done.

    Re: Napoleonic French

Cheers Bigshep! 800 Perry Russians is indeed a huge amount of figures... I wish you luck! Myself I am planning to paint 5-6 battalion of regular infantry a couple Grenadiers and some Jagers. Hopefully that should keep me busy for a couple of years

Thx for the info about the cartridge boxes. Next time I should check my references twice!
Now regarding the greatcoat; its simply a coat of GW graveyard earth for the basecoat and then two highlights of kommando khaki + graveyard earth (1st 50:50 - 2nd 80:20).

    Hope this helps!

    Re: Napoleonic French

Cheers for that, it will make a change from green jackets and grey blanket rolls. As the colour changed per purchase it will make a bit of a change in the battalions. Though two highlights is one to many for me I have 26x 32 figure battalions to paint and base in a year, so should be fun. Got 8 battalions done so far in 2 months, so I am on track, sort of. I am using the Warlord figures for the grenadier battalions as they are slightly taller than Perry figures, which makes sense for grenadiers. However if using them for musketeers you have to shave two of the grenadier bits off the cartridge boxes, which is a right pita!

    Re: Napoleonic French

Very good stuff, the painting is great, especially for Napoleonics with the masses of uniformed line troops.

@bigshep:Wow, that is a huge size for 28mm units. Kudos.

    Re: Napoleonic French

Basically 26 battalions is an infantry corp with the extra combined grenadier battalions from the depot (2nd) battalions. Rules are "grand manner" as used at the wargames holiday centre and using an oob from Borodino. I will get round to posting some pics at some point in the future. Hey I may even do a blog, but it would be a tad boring (heres another regiment, and another pile of boxes to glue, etc)

Its something special with an Napoleonic collection with all those white ribbons and laces and whatnot. Great.
