meltedwing: I was just typing those exact words.
Another question, under what circumstances do you split units of 10 into combat squads? Is there a particular army or type of army you most definitely would or would not do so?
I tend to run a purifier list with units of 10 that have 4 psycannons in each unit. I split them pretty much any time it's not a kill points game. If it's a kill points game, then I consider the risk vs reward. I can easily fit 2x10 squads in a 1k list with room for a couple of razorbacks.

The sword boosts invul saves by +1, which is against shooting, close combat and other attacks that allow invul saves if I'm not mistaken.

You are mistaken.
It's +1 Inv against CC attacks. It's not even 'In Close Combat' like the Warding Staff is.

I'm leaning most towards Falchions, the image of a terminator marching up and tearing people down with twin swords just sits right with me
Grey Knight characters like having the equivalent of a Storm Shield in close combat. There's something about a 3++ that makes me feel viscerally happy. It's one of the reasons I use so many Zoanthropes.
the sword on the GM is generally the accepted weapon option. Terminators i will admit i have never seen armed with the Falchions, ever. The init 6 is SO useful, and every unit needs a hammer or 2. ANd the increased durability granted from the sword is super nice. In addition i think halbs/hammers are free while you pay for the +1 atk falchions.....
If they were all free they may be worth taking.

No you take the required number of hammers and everything else is a Halberd - I6 is just so good!

The Grand Master will pretty much be the only terminator armored model in my army, the rest will be Purifiers or Henchmen, if that makes any big difference
You think anyone would be opposed to using two swords and counting it as a mastercrafted NFS? cause i really like the image of twin blades, but if it's really that weak of an option i'm hesitant to use it
Master crafted sounds cool, the image of an opponent dodging his first strike only to be cut down by his pre emptive strike with his off hand blade is a neat idea.
@ all, yeah sorry bout the mix up on NFS, I didn't have codex on me. Looked last night.
Still a good option in cc for durability.
Go with the twin blade look and say its mc, it will look pretty cool.

Casually, no, and people generally don't care much about WYSIWYG. In a tournament this would be an absolute no-go though. In a codex where there was no two weapon option available, you'd probably swing it, but where this is a two weapon option that you have modelled, but are using as something else, it's very misleading. I'd say you have zero chance in any serious tournament, and it would likely be frowned upon even at store level.
Kelanen
Would store level frown on it if you modeled a dual blade, like a double ended glaive....

A double ended glaive would be better suited to a Halberd IMO, but given that it's not actually any of the standard options, yes, you'd probably be fine with that, even at higher levels.
The problem with what you were suggesting is that it was the equivalent of putting an Assault Cannon on and calling it a master-crafted lascannon - two standard but very different weapons.
Kelanen
If you ever get the chance a MC halberd and digiweapons can work wonders on a GK character - it's more like guaranteeing the kill than killing more. So against multi wound oponents its golden (excluding EW obviously).
Cool cool.
Next on list for customising then.
