hmm.. I'm guessing the spears are a recurring weapon that ties the force together (signiture weapon?) Glad to see another cool pic and can't wait for more!

    Re: Legion of Thorns

TheConverter15 - Thanks - an answer of sorts to your spear question:

I tend towards a 'cool-before-rules' approach, so not strictly game legal, but playable, though this army is primarily intended for display.

The Legion of Thorns exists in planning stage as:
    - Marine squad - The Stormbringers - 7 of these placed to the front of the board - all carrying the signature Storm-spear, except for the 2 heavy weapons
    - Behind the Marines, a Berzerker squad - The Mournblades - numbering 5, armed with massive chain-axes... mournblades of course!!!
    - Behind them some Chaos Lords... maybe 3 or 4 still sorting it out in my head
    - Flanking the troops on one side, a Daemon Prince - old school metal version with a larger variant of the Storm spear
    - On the other side, an as yet undecided heavy support vehicle - Defiler variant of some kind - maybe a scorpion, or a biped Knight Titan like MegaNutz' brilliant walker
    - At the back, a Summoned Greater Daemon - though in the fluff this beast will be something special that I'll reveal later... (ooo the suspense!)

Meanwhile, another intel transmission from the scout-servitor...

Needs some greenstuff patching-up around the fur of the cloak, but otherwise pretty happy with this guy.
WoC cloak attachment idea was courtesy of this great dakkadakka tutorial http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum...st/313112.page, (Thanks Hyenajoe!)
though I decided to sculpt extra cloak over the (non-existent) shoulder pads rather than Hyenajoe's cut-shoulder-pads-in-half method as per the tutorial.

    C+C welcome!

Looking great so far! I particularly enjoy your choice of names: Stormbringer and Mournblade

Wargamez03 - Thanks - now I need to do justice to them when I get around to painting!

Vomikron Noxis - Thanks - I was wondering if anyone was going to get the references... might be some more sneaking in later!

A dakkadakka user asked for an explanation of the cloak, so Command inserted a *CLASSIFIED* operative into the *CLASSIFIED* Area of Operations (AO) to supply intel imagery:

They're looking really good chap, i'm liking the spear conversions a lot.
The heavy flamer conversion is a really clever idea and very nicely executed.

Don't worry about the number of replies compared to the views, i've found that 10 replies for 1000 views is about average for my logs.

    Mewy - Thanks!

Scout elements within the *CLASSIFIED* AO have sighted only 4 heretics of the Legion of Thorns to date.
Astartes Scout Sniper *CLASSIFIED* was inserted to gather further imagery and subsequent analysis of subject Stormbringer Marine 2:

Further infiltration into the Legion-held Area of Operations are currently rating a very high level risk of compromise.
Command intent remains for scout elements to collect, analyse and disseminate imagery as quickly as possible.

    For the Emperor!
