Davidian's "Deff Squadrun" Orks

Hello there campers.

Here begins a new Plog for my new Orks. Now leaving only eldar and nids out of my monstrous collection.

I wanted to tone down the skin colour from the snot/goblin green run-o-the-mill tide so tested out a cammo green/bleach bone mix.

I'm quite pleased with it. Glad to hear the good opinions of the Warseer community... so what do you think of my Nob? [XD oh the connotations]

Looking good so far. Pics are a little on the dark side mind, but I reckon the skin colour is a good choice. Looking forward to seeing your fleet of grey and chequered Koptas

Nice one. I wasn't sure about the grey with B/W checkers but now I can see done it works well. The red base is a nice touch, works well with the skin and ties in the rust.

These are coming together very nicely. Really like the paler skin tone you've gone with, and the grey theme certainly fits!

I picked up the green paint today..... it felt gooooood.



probably should finish those two Nobz but they aren't featuring in my 1500, so they're last in line now.... a very... very... long line [well, not very long but really slow moving line... actually... really long and really slow moving. Oish!]

*Edit* I've also been re considering my colour scheme. Since I have a balanced mix of AT/AI shooting/combat vehicles/infantry I have decided to make my clan Da Blood Axes, Zognuts Irongob's Divishun, Da Deff Skwadron!

I'm gonna use the grey as a base for urban cammo similar to this one;

Very nice! I particularly like the Komando. Great color contrast on the face paint. Edit: just read that its not your kommando. Well its still nice.

Are you going to add some Blood Axe iconography or keep them in the theme of Goffs?

I certainly do want to add some blood axe iconography.... but aside from the red body paint [the occasional red axe] and cammo pants, what else do you think I could add to make them appear more, well... blood axie?

Irondog on the who loves orks thread posted a picture of berets he did out of green stuff for his kommandos. Those are extremely simple to make and look great.

For mine I did it with camo and using oomie equipment. I dont use chopps I have cuttas (basically bowie knives) and use bits from imperial guards generously on the models. Imperial guard weapons where they are easy good looking swaps (i.e. missle launchers for rocket launchers ,heavy bolters for big shootas, flamers for burnas, etc), then asthetic stuff like back packs, canteens, bed-rolls, etc. Blood Axe's can look REALLY awesome when a little time is put into bitz gathering very early on in the project.

Got 2 boxes of lootas... GW have failed to impress me with a box of 4 lootas and a mek [just what long-range fire support needs... a short-mid range char?]

It'll work, just think the hull needs some 'orkification'

I have summed up my irritation of only getting 4 lootas per box in the medium of conversion... nothing ground breaking, I just stuck all the special weapons I had knocking around together. They blend in with the rest quite well so that's enough for me.

Converting lootas looks like lots of fun You're doing a good job with it too. And lol at the name "green baron"! Brilliant.

Cheers guys, I have to admit though. The name 'Green Baron' wasn't my idea...

It's almost become the name of the taktiks for using single deffkoptas with rokkits and buzzsaw [alpha-strike fun times ].

Quikk update. Been painting a bit today, gonna do more after my dinner but thought I'd leave this here for now.




Blood Axe glyph on the loin cloth doesn't stand out much :/

Painting is outstanding but I'm not sold on the red face paint. He looks like a luchador.

You have plenty of surrounding armor plates around that head, don't want to get red overload.
