Here I will be chronicling my work as I strive to create a few fleets for Aqaunautica Imperialis- the game of naval warfare set in the 40K Universe.

Anyway, this log will focus on the creation of the good guys. That's right, a naval PDF force. Since the Imperium uses standard template construction, most of the basic design are the same from world to world with only minor variations to meet local conditions and capabilities. However, the rules are designed around a specific campaign on the planet of Ammoriss. Therefore, I am making a North Ammoriss PDF Force.

I have a budget of $0 for this project. Therefore, I am sculpting all the models using Sculpey and using found materials where needed. That means no P-card or GS... too expensive.
So let's get started...
This is my first attempt using only found materials.
First, I designed a deck plan, and then cut out each layer of cardboard. I then laid it out from the bottom deck to the top portions...
I then stacked the design...
Then, I took cardstock and plated over the gaps it the basic form...
Here it is compared to an IG trooper for scale...
This took a long time to make, and overall I was not happy with the overall aesthetics of the craft.
That meant I had to go back to the design drawing board.
