That's a bold looking mini, friend! Love the in-your-face colors, and I'll say again that those conversions are absolutely brill.

I'd recommend getting rid of the script on the barding and shield, however, simply because the model is already so busy with the checker pattern and color selection.

Dunno, I kind of like the script. Added it after the checked pattern. Think it looked empty without it. It looks better IRL I have to admit. Pix tend to ruin models (if you dont know what you are doing like myself) in some way,

2 Weeks since the last post, wow, that sucks. Here is another knight done anyway. He is supposed to look like "the good guy" in the bunch.

Nice idea painting all your Knights as individuals, It works well!

The free hand swirls on the barding of the first guy is excellent.

The second guy is my favourite, black, cream and Red eh?... I think you might have just given me the inspiration for my Knights of Sigmar's Woe. Nice one

Great painting on the last chap but he is screaming Middenheim to me. Still I reckon they will look superb as a unit.

    Good Stuff!

    Thanks forthe commebts guys.
I know that the last one is middenheim(ish)
But its quite a task to come up with individual
schemes that still are convincing but give a good impression
    in a unit together.

I have an idea of the knights background which i will
reveal once all of them are painted so stay tuned

Excellent work! I also have an Averland force - I was drawn to the bold contrast of the yellow and black. You've got a wonderfully clean style, it makes a great impression.

Love that blue color, it's very rich and clean. I'll praise you again on your use of greatsword arms/heads on those knight models, it really helps modernize that kit.

This army looks great and I would love to see more of it. Really like the clean painting style that you have - it seems you have a very organized way of painting models...

    Re: Chronicles of Averland (Armyblog)

-Chronicles of Aver land by apprentice scribe Balian the Humble of the Kampfenhammer Sigmarite chapel-
A brief description of Engels noble knights of lady fortune

Our grand Empire is home to some of the mighiest knightly orders the civilized world has ever seen. As contemporary scholar know these knights are in almost all cases members of different orders, following different agendas, may it be purging the world of the chaos filth, spreading the glorious gospel of our mighty lord Sigmar, preaching the coming of the end times etcetera, the number of agendas is plentyful.

One group of knights that the scholars have a harder time in categorizing is Engels noble knights of lady fortune. Here is a brief descripton of this group.
The knights are as their name suggests actually swords for hire, mercenaries, soldiers of fortune and so on.

They are led by the charismatic renegade noble Joseph Engel who after suspicious circumstances denounced his nobility and left the luxorious life he until then enjoyed. He started to sell his services as an excellent warrior to anyone with a larg enough purse to pay him and after a few years as a loner more men started to gather around him. His first follower and now his second in command is the brettonnian champion Guy de Chevalier.

What makes this group of knights stand out from the rest more traditional orders is that in order to join the knights one must be of ”noble of in some other way important way statue, may it be former or present”. In other words everyone who wants to join must hold or have held an important position before joining, hence have access to finances, contacts and most importantly, training in arms.

The noble knights of lady fortune have become a safehaven for noblemen and military leaders who for different reasons need to break the ties to their former life but still wish to remain high status. Members all have different reasons for joining, but the most common reason seem to be of ”seductive nature towards other fellow nobles wives”.

The knights lend their supperior skill and equipment to different parties if they can afford, because the services are not cheap, but they are always well carried out.

There is no uniform colour for the knights, and they use what ever livery they wish, although their equipment must be adapted to the gear used across the Empire to allow them to be easily adapt to the tactics that are in commonplace.

Brilliant plog! Your painting is so crisp and clean! I loved following how your army grows! And the individual backstories really adds a great deal of depth to them!

    Looking forward to more updates!
