Well, that's a whole 4 boxes for me and with that--plus the "greatbeards" I ordered from Molon Rabe--I swear I'm done with collecting non-Mantic Dwarves...
Really, guys... no more, it's 5.5k points already!

They're up on the wayland website now for £20.00. I'm sure that maelstrom and the other net stores will follow, if they haven't got them up already.
Lovely models, but sadly as a greenskin player my feeling is that they'd be a lot better dead, so I wont be getting any.

Anyone know how these will scale with Mantic Dwarfs?
They will probably be about as tall as Mantic Dwarfs, but much, much beefier. I have some AoW metal dwarfs and some Mantic Dwarfs, and the AoW models are roughly equal in height, but the limbs are much thicker. (The Berserker is the same height as a Mantic Dwarf warrior and the AoW Thunderlord is about 2 mm taller.) The plastic dwarfs have broad enough faces to look decent next to the AoW dwarfs, if you're not too picky. However, the AoW dwarfs make the Dwarf King's Court look like a bunch of grots...but then again, the King's Court members look like bearded Hobbits next to the plastic Mantic Dwarfs, anyway.
I guess it depends on how much variation you can accept in your army. AoW dwarfs look about as different to Mantic Dwarf Warriors as Mantic Dwarf Berserkers do.
does anyone know if the preorders from retailers would include the limited edition bits that the aow webpage preorders contain??
I would like to confirm that. Did anyone hear something about that?
Wayland says it does, Maelstrom doesn't say either way.
I'm so tempted by these - I don't have a Dwarf army but have been considering it after seeing Mantic's plastics and playing Dragon Age:Origins (someone also pointed out the Dwarf Ninja army to me and I giggled lots).
I do seem to have an overwhelming urge to paint these guys up as well...
In the Grim Darkness of the Far Grim Dark there is only Grim Darkness, and skulls.

Agreed. That's a real shame."
Haterz gonna hate.
Whinners gonna whine.
For £20.00 you get 20 excellent sculpts, a bitz box full of extra's and a movement tray, and all you can think to say is that the axes are too big?
Don't like them, replace them. Easy to do since they are plastic.
Excellent box set. I cannot wait for the next set.
Its going to be dark elves witches
another kick in the balls of GW, IMHO
I'd quite like to see some good models to use as Orc Big 'Uns though? Not much point in GW producing them, but AoW could make a plastic Orc kit with orcs that are a bit bigger than the normal GW orcs?
More on topic... damn those are nice! I have to ask certain posters though, how can a weapon ever be too big?![]()

Those look quite nice, though I too notice how thick the weapons were. But the Dwarves really need some new plastic, I don't play Dwarf and I'm not really into them, but their range is terribly in need of a makeover. The metal Slayers are probably among(st?) the oldest stuff still produced by GW.
If their next plastic box is some Witch Elves, I think I might get a box or three, and I don't even play Dark Elves!
Vampire Counts Army : At least 4000pts built, much more waiting for some love!
Tomb King Army : About 6000 pts of troops, all that is left is painting!
My Sales thread!
Lovely Dwarfs, oversized weapons and all!
Second best supported army possibly, but it doesn't mean the models are any good!
I would love to see some plastic AOW orcs along the lines of their heroes.
The current GW boyz don't inspire me that much. (especially at their new price!)

3 boxes for me to round out the Dwarf collection. Could never bring myself to buy the other metal slayers.
It would make things simpler if there were a subscription facility i.e. ship me two boxes of any new release, I'll let you know if I want more. The internet has made me a slightly lazy shopper I think...

Courtesy of "Aberrant" on the AoW forums, some sprue and comparison shots. Looking forward to getting my pre-order, and seeing future plastics from AoW.
