Very good work on the Iron Warriors. I also like your freehand of the Legion symbol but it could use one change in my opinion.

I wasn't great at freehanding the deathmask but definitely make the mouth piece smaller. Instead of spreading them out to where the 'cheek bones' are pointed downward, bring them in a little more in between.

thanks for the comments guys, on my to-buy list are two more desk lamps to provide some more all-round lighting.

the weird thing is the camera is actually set to take pictures of small sized objects and is also set to take pictures from the maximum range, and if i set it to zoom the pics get even more blurry.

Your army looks good, I especially like what you've done with the IW lord (nice and simple)

But yeah you need some better pics, try a more rounded light source so it illuminates the entire area, or maybe zoom the camera out to get better focus and if your camera has a 'close' setting use it.

I really like these, the freehand looks good, but it's a bit hard to see in the picture.

    Are you using macro mode?

uhm, i don't know what macro mode is, so "no"?

i'm using my sisters camera with its setting to small targets (less than 70 cm from the cam).

any body know what setting i should use?

plus i just realised the first pics were done only by the light from my desk lamp, with hindsight i should have put on the normal room light too, but it was late, and i had scool the following day.

Macro is the setting for small objects and are usually shown as a little flower icon, which is the setting you need to use to get clear pictures of your minis, that and then you need to have auto focus unless you have a camera where focus can be handled manually. The minis look good on the pictures which are in focus, so great job on that

Re: yet another iron warrior log, my style!

so far i haven't found a flower icon on the entire camera, although there is a manual focus, but it is hard to make it work since my hands are a bit shaky every now and then.

might add that i've got my shaky hands on a CSM battalion and a CSM terminator box, and i've ordered a necromunda Escher, Goliath and Pit Slaves gang, which i'll turn into a bunch of Auxilia and Armsmen from the IA 9 Tyrants Legion list.

btw, anybody got any good tips for green stuff noobs, so far all i've got is:
    - keep your tools and fingers wet.
    - after applying the green stuff to an area let it be for 20 minutes, then start sculpting, and
    - cut away the middle area where the blue and yellow parts meet.

any help or advice is appreciated since i'm freaking out about even opening the package.

It's always surprised me that people use the list in IA:9, but then never use the list in IA:10 (the siege one).
I can see why poeple use the first list but i've never seen the second one in use

    woohoo!

got the stuff i had ordered from GW last friday, which included a pit slaves gang, an escher gang, a goliath gang and a pair of squig herds.

the gangs will become armsmen and auxilia for my iron warriors, and i've begun working on a bunch of terminators for a tournament i'll be attending next weekend.

still not sure if i'll be using the scions of perturabo or my death skulls orks.

    i'll post pics soon.

Looking smart rex. Really like the painting on the khorne champ. Also, thanks for taking the time to take lots of pictures, appreciated - much better then pages of back story and no models! (And the new cam shows off your painting a lot better.) Looking forward to seeing more mate.
