    Zerodemon's Space Hulk Log

    Hey guys,

So this is where I will be posting all the updates for my Space Hulk shenanigans. If you've read any of my stuff, you know I run a Space Hulk blog where I'm doing all kinds of things. The current projects are as follows:-

The Ark of Dust Campaign - This is the Space Wolves and Blood Angels campaign I'm writing. It's all very exciting and playtesting is going well. Missions I to IV are available to be tested and if you don't have Space Wolf Termies, don't worry. I've put up adapted rules for using only the marines from the Space Hulk 3ed box. Check out the page at this link http://spacehulkmissions.blogspot.co...-campaign.html

Grey Knights Playtesting - Aren't those new models loverly! Since they've been announced I've had a crap ton of rules up on my blog being playtested daily to get the most out of them and try to make them balanced. The full set of current rules are at the link below. They are severely pared back from other Grey Knight rule sets but have all the tasty benefits that you'd expect these elite elites to have. Plus my rules fit in well with the fluff. Click the link below to see them.

Grey Knights Missions - I have four of six of the "Blood in the Stars" missions written and they'll be going up around the end of May. They are suitably hardcore and replace genestealer gribbliness with Bloodletter gribbliness. There is a page, which is currently bereft of any kind of detail, but I'll update this thread when the missions go up.

Dark Angels - I recently ran a poll for which campaign I should work on through the next couple of months. The Deathwing going after a fallen won out (I polled in 4 places) and so you get a campaign for them. I finally have the models for the Dark Angels and their Fallen quarry as well as a bunch of unbuilt Daemonettes to stand in for Genestealers. The first mission for this campaign will go up at the weekend as well as a bit of fluff to explain what is going on. You can check out the Terminators at the following link.

Short Missions - These are a set of missions I made up to play with my girlfriend. She likes Space Hulk for about 40 minutes at a time and so missions about the length of Suicide Mission needed to be developed. I'll be posting those for you guys too in the coming months. Watch this space.

Cool Re: Zerodemon's Space Hulk Log

Putting the finishing touches on Mission V of the Ark of Dust campaign and the first of the "Quick Missions" (designed to be played inside 30-40 minutes like Suicide Mission.) I've also adapted one of my Ark of DUst campaign missions to fit in the "Quick Mission" category aswell, making it a little more forgiving and a little shorter to fit the specification. Look for them around midnight EST/5am GMT at http://spacehulkmissions.blogspot.com

Edit: My laptop has gone in to conniptions but I've provided a mission I was working on on the main computer for you to have a go at instead. Will get the two missions mentioned above to you as soon as I get Lappy working again.

    Mission - Locked In

New Quick Mission posted called Locked In. Go and give it a look and playtest it some. I've given it a few tries before tonight and had a good laugh with it tonight with my girlyfriend. Enjoy

Good grief!!! Surgical Destruction is insane! Well designed, but even placing 1 bomb in room B is tough.

Great idea with the DA and the Fallen... I'm a DA player and didn't even think to use Fallen and demonettes... well thought-out.

It is hardcore, but doable, believe me.

I can't wait for the dark Angel campaign to come out. Since the starter for six edition will include dark angels and chaos. I may just end up modeling them as BT to go with the rest of my army.

    Re: Zerodemon's Space Hulk Log

    Hi,
I had a first try at mission I-breakthrough today (played alone). I stopped when I lost my 6th marines, and didn't go further to try and get a draw.
My first impression is that it seems to be a quite balanced mission, with two different periods in the game : before and after firing the web missiles).

My game didn't go very well due to 2 main factors : I wanted to rush in the beginning and bad luck (dice and CP). The placing of the different marines at the beginning obviously will play a major role in the game.

So I wanted to advance too quickly at the beginning of the game (the map is quite big so I was afraid the game would be too long), hence some bad positioning. Then I decided to take my time and things got better.
However, and besides several marines in overlapping overwatches, bad dice rolls had my marines dying one after another.

What would I recommend for this mission?
    1) think about the initial positions of your marines
    2) don't rush, good placing and time will see you progress through the board unscathed (with an average CP draw)

Thanks Adam for letting us play with your custom missions. They provide a new challenge and make the game alive
Visit and rate my fantasy log : A lot of green against a feeble mind
    Models painted 2011= 45 / 2012 = 62 / 2013 = 7
