Thread: Bahir's Random Madness

    Bahir's Random Madness

Inspired by Tael's Hulk Hounds, I decided to see what I could do with some Necromundia minis I had.

This is will be the "cutter" team. They come in after the area has been mostly secured, and has something of an atmosphere. They cut and chop up anything the scout team has marked as profitable. The cutters are accompanied by spotters who, among other things, tries to make sure that nothing sneaks up behind the cutters and eats them.

    More to come later!

Welcome to the Random Logs section! You sir, have made my day... I was just wondering what kitbash gang I could do next, and these look mighty nice for inspiration.

What gang will they be? Or are they a homebrew thing?

We've been using No Limits for our rule set and I just submitted "Boarding Action" as a sort of sub-rule set. So they will probably go with that.

Very nice kitbashes, and a good concept - thanks also for linking to Tael's excellent Hulk Hounds. What else have you got in the pipeline?

    Re: Bahir's Random Madness

I've also been working on some Firefly-esque Reavers. Basically Plastic GW Goliaths with some body parts swaps. Most of this bunch as plastic GW fantasy heads, although one has a Hasslefree Head and a AT-43 Weapon.

Here are a few of them painted up

Here are a few more with their assault shields.

    And a kit bashed hammer

Here are some more WIP Reavers. They are made with WHF parts, 40k IG arms, Pig Iron Heads and some GW Lizard man weapons thrown in.

    And another painted one.

The second bunch of reavers looks so much better - you did the best you could with those old Goliath plastics, but they are just bizarrely proportioned...

How did you make those bionic arms on those reavers with shields?

You have to love those old Goliath models. They are truly terrible, but it's extremely funny at the same time.

I agree. They are so big, a few of them are holding full size bolters in one hand.

The bionic arms have been in my bits-box for a very long time. I think they are from some old RAMF Cyber Orks I use to have.

Working on some Space Rangers by EM4 Miniatures. I've got an international move a week from Monday and I want to finish them up before I go.

Here are some that I did earlier.

    Before paint:

    After:

I'm trying to do some conversions on the next two Sargent.

    Re: Bahir's Random Madness

Monday I head back to the states for about a year, so these are probably the last minis I'll paint until I get settled over there.

    Laser Cannon Guy

Two troopers and a support trooper guy

And two Sgts with Head Swaps and CC weapon Swaps. It's amazing the difference a head can make. The power fist and the chain sword were pretty easy to add. The heads were a bit more problematic. I had to be careful not to cut into the surrounding shoulder pads while decapitating them

    Re: Bahir's Random Madness

Well I just moved from Europe to the States for about a year. I won't be able to do any painting until we get settled, but I did manage to squeeze in a game before I left.

Terminators vs Space Rangers using No Limits Rules.

Here are some photos of my latest game with my favorite opponent (my son, he's awesome!)

It was my son and his Terminators vs My space rangers. In the end, the pure volume of fire I put out one the day (the laser cannon didn't hurt either)!

I really like WorldWorks Games Titan, once it's made it's easy to set up indoor / Space Hulk style games.

    Re: Bahir's Random Madness

Here's a project I finished up about a month or so ago. Boarding Action is based off of the No Limits Rule set. It deals with Small skirmish battles based on Starships, Star bases and the like and includes rules for ships crews, robots and a few Scenarios. Look for Boarding Action in the Downloads sections of No Limits Web Site.

    C&C are welcome

That is all awsome stuff. Especially the necromunda figs. You can see you put a lot of work into them. Love it.

    Re: Bahir's Random Madness

Well we're settled (sort of) back in the states and I've started working on these guys again...

I've started adding some GS armor to the tops of the boots, and adding some detail to the weapons. (Photo's as soon as I find where I packed the camera) Next I want to add some knee pads. Anyone know where I can find a tutorial, or images of some WIP knee pads?

    Thanks!

    Re: Bahir's Random Madness

Well the Green stuff is about done as I'm gonna get it. I'm having some difficulty getting the GS as smooth as I'd like. I'm not sure if there is some technique that I'm missing or if I just need better eye glasses.

Anyway on with the Salvage Crew

I've added some steel toes to the shoes, knee pads and some shoulder armor. On a few I tried to mod their salvage equipment a bit and smooth out some of the joints.

    C&C welcome.
