Thread: Bahir's Random Madness

    Re: Bahir's Random Madness

    Argh!!!!

    I got the fuzzies!!!!

I spray primed the minis on what I thought was a non-humid day for Florida.... but now I've got the "fuzzy" looking finish. The odd things it's on in patches.

Should I just scrape off the fuzzy parts or just strip the whole model? Will stripping mess up the GS work I've done?

    Argh!!! All advice appreciated.

    Free Stuff!

Well this is cool. I sent some links of em-4 stuff I panted up / converted and they wrote an article on it and gave me credit for free stuff!

Here is a link to the article: http://combatzonechronicles.net/cozoxc/redmarines.htm

Here is a photo of some of the stuff I ordered.

I ordered some robot / mech looking things, some more marines, and some of the toopers and gangers. I'm thinking the toopers are going to need some head swaps (thinking Pig Iron heads) and the weapons are not my taste so I'm thinking some Hasslefree weapons.

Anyone have any idea how Pig Iron heads and Hasslefree weapons might work on these?

Heyyyy, nice paint job - those ex-Orlocks look very industrial; it compliments the conversion work really well. Will you be using these chaps in Necromunda? If so, what rules would you use?

Thank you for the compliment MaxSigmund.

I use the No Limits rules. You can find them here. I plan on using them with the Boarding Action rules.

Well I've been getting prepared for another international move. I've been hording plasticard and foam core in preparation and when I have a few moments I've been working on my Titan Build for our Boarding Action games.

Here is a picture of what I've been up to. I have a cramp in my hand from all the cutting.

Wow... titan? that's a massive project! Would love to how you go about it. I'm always keen to get some inspiration.

The necromunda gang looks really good, btw.

I was messing around with Shrinky Dinks, which are basically sheets of #6 polystyrene plastic that you can run through an ink jet printer. Then you cook them and they.... well, they shrink.

Here are some tokens I made for Boarding Action.

After I printed them and cut them out, but before cooking. The AA battery is for scale.

After cooking. Notice how much they shrunk. And they are nice and thick. Perfect "Token" size.

I bought the pack of Shrinky Dinks at Michael's. It was a bit pricy, but my wife had a 40% off coupon

Man, I was staring at the pictures for more than a minute trying to spot the difference.

Looks like you posted the same pic twice by accident.

Okay, it's easier to spot the difference now.

That's pretty cool. Never heard of Shrinky Dinks before but I can think of many uses.

I did some more experimenting with Shrinky Dinks. I cut out some shapes and blade type things suitable for orks. Below you can see the results. If anyone has any shapes / items you would like me to try out, post the image in the thread and I'll see what I can do. Remember the items shrink quite a bit.

    Re: Bahir's Random Madness

It has been a while since my last post, but while I may not have been working quickly, I am working steady...

My last game I ran out of posts for my Titan build and some of my tiles didn't have anchors, so I just started printing and decided to try to knock it all out at once....

30+ posts and 80+ anchors later... I hope I have enough....

Now all I have to do is glue the anchors on...

Here is the build I've been working on. It will be for a game for my son and his buddies.

    Anyway, on with the photos.

    The research base.

The smaller cargo bay with the cargo bot waiting for new orders...

Main Lab (The science team is still in the process of moving in)

The "Garden" where they can study native organisms

The Cryo Chambers to preserve specimens and to put any injured team members in case of a medical emergency.
