Deathwing VS Tyranids 4000pts mega battle 27th May

Howdy folks,

A few weeks ago, Stormtrooper154 and I got talking about having a very large game. All my Deathwing, all his Nids, all of them painted.

The date has been set for Saturday the 27th of May and will take place across 2 boards at Warhammer World, Nottingham.

The Deathwing have been tracking one of the fallen angels. The fallen one's shuttle has crashed on a planet in the path of Hive Fleet Tarentus. The Deathwing need to recover their prize before he is consumed by the Hive Mind.

Chances are that we will be playing for the whole day, so drop in if you're in the area and say hi.

We're also looking for some people to give us a hand in playing; probably 2 per side. If you live near Nottingham and want to come along, send me a PM.

Hmmm, I'd like to see you take some pictures, that would be quite interesting to see. I would say that the nids do not seem to have enough Big Bugs to be as effective as they need against the wing, then again it doesnt seem to have many little buggers either. I'm trying to figure out where the points are going.

I very much doubt that the Deathwing will pull it off.

1) It's a take a hold mission
2) He needs to get just 1 unit into combat and things go downhill for me from there
3) he has 3 lictors (see 2)
4) He will have scenery to hide behind

iv played deathwing for decades and foundthat nomatter how outnumbered they were they will always hurt an army in cc. all those powerfists will kill the gaunts with ease (i had my chaplin in termy armour with upgrades tear through 20 gaunts with lucky saves) also assualtcannons will be ur friend .

however a helios land raider would be more effective than a normal land raider..., assualt cannon dreads with powerfist will tie up gaunts in cc easily.

of course the biggest problem is that you wont be able to end combat until one unit is dead which can be a huge problem as i had 2 squads stuck in cc with a demon prince once

also what is the force chart like?, i can count 4 elites and 4 heavies.... what can u have overall?, also wouldnt they send the ravenwing rather than the deathwing for this kind of mission?

I think I'll have to come along and have a little look-see at this. When I heard what you two were planning, I was itching to see it pan out. I take it all those Assault Cannons you bought at the weekend will be turning out to rend TMCs to death?

Certainly volunteering for acting as a player aid in this - it'll give me an excuse to go home and visit the family.

Well charge the holding point with your landraiders dis embark and hold on... while the rest(dreds) shoot his Fex's.

Erm, ive not started the painting process yet shouldnt take too long though once im working shifts again.
The reason there appears to be small numbers of mc and gribblies is because its what i have and im not buying extra things for this one off game. Half the force is from the mega army box, parts of which i will be selling on ebay afterwards.

Yes, please do pics and post a bat rep. Battle Reports is the only thing Warseer lacks in my opinion (though I may just not know where they are kept if they do exist).

I just love horde vs outnumbered and beseiged battles.
