He'd be alright, but it's still 6s to wound them :/

I'm not disputing that he's good, but the issue with him is finding the points without cutting into the Treekin.

In my eyes a 6 to wound from 3 or 4 shots is still more chance than failing a 1+ twice after a 5 to wound. Although much unlike yourself I find Treekin to be very much overrated.

I think your mates are right and wrong. A wardancer noble is good-a unit is far too fragile.
Keeping a noble in reserve for when a nasty char comes close will be a god send I believe.
To get more points I honestly say dump the hail of doom arrow & the magic bow.
It did not kill much in 3 games.
Where as a wardancer noble can save your butt if your way watchers fail. Further with lore of beast you can buff the noble pretty well.
Worth a try at least in a friendly game.

Dunno man I dumped my HODA just cause my elves are the worst shots in the woods.

Just a shame that wardancer kindreds are so limited on items....at least a potion of strength is viable. The wardancer sword is just pricy.

If the BSB could be a Kindred character then that'd be ace... I'm tempted to drop the BSB altogether at the moment though :/

Well-if wood elves had the will of chaos rule I would say dumb the BSB-buttt LD 8/9 is easy to fail.

My abomb needs a new paint job with a giant yellow streak down the back cause it fails panic more often than not.

I was wondering about the use of a BSB in a list like this. Are you just always making sure your Glade Guard are in a bubble? It seems like they'd wanna go around all over the place to get their shots and end up out of range.

At the moment I'm trying make sure the majority of the army (or at least, the bits that aren't immune to pysch) is in one of the 2 bubbles, either the ld9 general or the BSB re-roll, and I also try to keep the level 4's unit inside the BSB range.

Good battle reports, as always. Facing two Lizardmen lists so similar to each other was a blow though! Do you think the Wood Elf army has any tools to kill Chuck Norris Scar-Vets?

I haven't yet had the oppertunity to fight the new VC. Generalship aside, how would you rate the composition of the army you faced? It looked pretty solid, and certainly had a lot of options in it.

Also, why were skink cohorts limited to 0-3?

Hmmm... for killing Scar-Vets, I think Waywatchers are still the best option, or else Wardancers. The Lord with Bow of Loren and Arcane Bodkins (4 shots, ignores armour saves) might be a decent option but he comes in at 205pts and is only S3.

VC- I think 2x6 or even 2x8 Crypt Horrors will become fairly standard as the army still suits a defensive build- zombies, Horrors and Invocation all works well towards points denial. Alternatively, the knight bus could still work- an ASF Vampire Lord and 3/4 ASF Vampires in a unit of 20 odd Black Knights will kill, well, everything...

Skink Cohorts being limited is just to stop people turning up with 10+ skink units that are worth almost no points and ruining hobbies all weekend.

Since no one here uses them at all... what are the 2 standard scar-vet builds guys are running?

Both with light armour on Cold Ones- Burning Blade/Sword of Striking, Dawnstone, Charmed Shield and great weapon, Firefly Venom, Amulet of Itzl and Dragonhelm.

Wait, the dawnstone combo with the sword of striking comes to 55 points (over the total maximum magic item allowance). Am I missing something?

Might not be the Sword of Striking then, but tbh any of the 20pt magic weapons will do.
