I thought you were a student? What kind of work are you looking for?

I graduated last summer, and I've not been able to find any real work since then- I've done a few bits and bobs and had a couple of interviews but nothing has worked out for one reason or another.

At this point, I'm looking for pretty much anything beyond bar work (which I hate) but with a degree in Politics with a minor in Social Psychology, I'm hardly qualified for a lot of things. Part of the problem though is that because I'm training to go into the Royal Marines as an officer, any job I get will only be temporary as I start full RM training in September, and funnily enough a lot of prospective employers aren't that keen on hiring me for just 4-5 months which I suppose is fair enough. I could lie to them and say I'm looking for long-term employment, but that's just not cricket in my opinion.

I've been tempted to get adverts back onto the Youtube channel to try and at least get some sort of return, but I dislike adverts on the Youtube stuff that I watch so I don't want to put any on my own videos.

I'm hopeful something will come up though

Well you should definitely reinstate adverts. I have no problem watching 5 seconds of a commercial if it means you get some profit, and anyone who says otherwise is being silly. Sorry to hear the job hunt isn't going well, but I'm glad you have something permanent coming up in September no matter what happens.

Tom do you only play tournament games? It would be nice to see some friendly/practice games recorded to help your loyal followers get their fix. :P Especially missing the Dark elves.

I mainly just play tournaments at the moment, as I don't really live near anywhere that I can reliably get in good practice games. Hopefully I'll get some in before too long though

I've not played on Universal Battle for a little while now, I sort of burnt out on it from playing too many games in too little time but I've been meaning to get back into it. My username on there is Badkitty, I'm going to try going on more often even if just to watch games

good choice, hopefully you'll get a chance to work with US Marines during your stint. i had the pleasure of crossing paths with a few royal marines in sangin, awesome bunch of guys. good luck with the search but don't sweat it too much.

Get the adverts back on there chap, I'd actually be more happy with adverts than without if I it means you are getting rewarded for your efforts in some way.

Thanks for the kind words gents. I'm not entirely sold on the adverts, but I do have an idea that I'll be bringing up in the next video. Hopefully I'll be getting a few practice games in weekend after next

Just wanted to throw out there (off topic-ish) that I tried to followJal's advice in my games of Dark Elves vs. Skaven over the weekend. I agree with him that you have to hit the squishy stuff hard and fast. The first game, between a Lore of Death sniping and some good rolls I did very well. In the second game, I did not deploy aggressively enough and allowed him to dictate the flow of battle in the center and thus never got to the juicy bits and lost.

Just wanted to leave some feedback there.

On topic, I also support the Adverts in order to see more games. I mean, that's the whole point behind sports teams, right? You get guys dressed like billboards, running around in a stadium shaped billboard, while electronic billboards buffet your senses between commercials. I still follow (american) football, and it's full of ads!

What does the payment structure even look like?


I watch quite a few videos on youtube and I HATE being stuck on ads. This is why I don't use them.

It's also my understanding that unless you are looking at thousands of hits that you don't get any money at all.
