Got to agree about some of those lists, for the life of me I cannot see how and Ironblaster + 10 Mournfangs or double Grey Seer, Abomb, 100+ clanrats all the toys, a WLC and a Doomwheel are deemed acceptable, but 66 Glade Guard is not. I really do hope that the ETC comp starts again from scratch, as it stands I think it's a long way off the mark. Leaving Lizards/Skaven/Ogres basically uncomped (or at last, relatively uncomped compared to other armies in what is meant to be a tough comp rules set) just doesn't make sense. I don't know whether a lot of it is going over my head, or if this is what happens when you write a comp pack by committee, but I really believe that it is a long way off the mark.

Long way off the mark? I think you spelled abortion wrong. The ETC comp is the most horrendous pack I've ever seen. Hate it with such a passion! Are the organizers all Lizz/rat/ogre players that are also in the tourney? It's the only thing that makes sense to me.

Pulled some info on your first opponent, because I'm a creeper like that. Straight off of rankingsHQ:

He's ranked 369th overall, with a total of 72.87 points in 4 events:
He placed 84 out of 84 at Tempest III with his TK.
He placed 74 out of 90 at Tempest IV with his TK.
He placed 23rd out of 42 at No Holes Barred with his Lizards
He placed 68th out of 74 at Tempest V with his Lizards.

His list surprises me somewhat. For example his tomb prince general doesn't seem to contribute anything to the army, and with nothing but light armor and toughness 5 should be easy points. From his army build I'm guessing he's putting one high priest in the archers and the other in the block of spearmen, so those will make some obvious targets. Other than those dual catapults I really don't see anything in the army that is particularly scary - chariots are a joke, i hear those knights are mostly just annoying, and those tomb swarms look like dryad fodder to me.

Eagles in the flank of the Ironblaster are the best way to deal with it. That is a surprisingly reliable method, actually. Ogres can struggle with clearing mobile chaff so with two eagles should be able to do the job.

I agree tbh i wouldnt even be scared about his 2 catapults. One thing ive found is that if you stop the augments from their own lore it turns into a game of, the entire TK army is free points. Anyways good luck tom

FAQ says you reveal them when you deploy, so I would assume that the Tournament organiser felt that they should therefore receive the same treatment as magic items. Just a guess, though.

Ben Curry's list caught my eye. Tom, if you were going to run a Cold One bus in SCGT Comp, what would you give the unit, and what characters would you put in it?

I have a boatload of the old Marauder Cold One Knights (All my Dark Elves are OOP) and the Cold One list looks great fun, just for giggles!
Thinking MR3 might be necessary, there is a fair bit of Metal magic around these parts atm.

Also, well done on your first two wins, and good luck for the rest of the Tournament! You can get that Wood Elves trophy!

That's Dave Grant, second ranked player in the UK. I don't think he ever uses a level 4. Used to play this end of the world a bit!
