    Jonny's Warmachine plog

    Hello!

I bought a Cygnar Battlegroup the other week and I've nearly finished painting it up. I've followed the standard Cygnar colour scheme and used coloured primer, washes and drybrushing to quickly achieve what I believe are reasonably good paint jobs.

All comments and criticism are welcome, although I want to make it clear from the outset that I'm not aiming for Golden Daemon standard by any stretch of the imagination!

    Here are the pictures:

    Ironclad

    Charger

    Cheers!

Really nice stuff, good solid, tabletop painting. Enjoy the game!

Thanks for the compliment Clay! I had my first game of Warmachine on Monday, really enjoyed it. Going to paint my Lancer up tomorrow to add to the gang. I can't remember that last time I enjoyed painting models this much!

Nice, I like the weathered look of the bronze. Good to hear you are enjoying the game, I'm a little luckwarm about warmachine but it's a good system.

    Thanks for the comment darkangeldentist!

I'm really enjoying painting these models, still only had one game, but I should be getting a few more in over the next couple of weeks.

I've painted the Lancer to finish off the Battlegroup box, and I've also painted a journeyman warcaster to accompany Stryker and the 'jacks.

Cygnar's certainly gotten popular around here. Very nice work, particularly on Stryker. What you planning on adding to them?

Thank you Keravin! I've already bought a Squire, a Storm Tower and Kraye, and I'm going to buy a Defender soon. I think that will do for the time being. I'll get everything painted up and have a few games before I decide what else to get. I'm going to get the Cygnar book at some point so I can have a good read through the units and background before I make any decisions.

Really like the blue you painted on your Jacks. Very clean all around. Look forward to your next update!

So now that I've got 25 points of Cygnar painted, I've decided to add some Mercenaries to my battlegroup. Although I can't legally run him yet (no warcaster or marshall for him yet!) I've painted up a Ghordson Driller.

I really like the use of washes and highlights on your Driller. I bet it will look great on the table.

    That driller is jawdropping!

OK so I've not updated for a while but I've been working on other projects. I've just finished a 15 point Seaforge army! I couldn't resist it after painting the Driller, the models are too nice! I'm going to be getting back to Cygnar now as I've got a Hunter, Brisbane, Strangeways, various Gun Mage types and some other solos to be getting on with.

    Hope you like my Seaforge!

The limited palette (bronze, silver and black) make it look really good, dont see many fully metal scheme armies out there as most people go for bold colours, it looks great exspecially the Forge Guard.

Tell you what i've had the pleasure of seeing his cygnar army in person and i tell you now the pictures, DO NOT do em justice! so looking forward to playing his rhul on monday, the Retribution shall rise victorious! although he wins moral victory for having a painted army on the table :P

    Re: Jonny's Warmachine plog

Thanks for all the great comments!

The all metal thing sort of spiralled out of control, but I'm happy enough with the result!

@fortheglory, it is a decent 15 points, I've had a couple of games with it now (one against r3dmoh4wk) and I think I'll be able to learn some nice tricks with it!

@r3dmoh4wk, we need to rumble again one day soon, last time was a nail-biter!

@precinctomega, great to get a nice comment off the pros!

Expect a Cygnar update very soon, my ATGMs and officer are done and I just need a few more hours on Siege, Arlan, Reinholdt and the Hunter.
