Re: The Angels Of Vengeance. A collection of short stories.

Inquisitor Hermand Brouge squeezed the trigger of his storm bolter sending two rounds into the mass of cultists that had overrun the governors’ spire. He squeezed the trigger once again causing two cultists to disintegrate showering their fellow cultists in a crimson spray.

To his right his death cult assassin danced elegantly between the cultists’ ranks, severing limbs, her twin blades effortlessly cutting through flesh and bone. She deftly swooped under a rather large cultists axe before jumping upwards. As she did her blades lashed out decapitating him before once again continuing her elegant dance of death.

Suddenly Brouge felt a vast psychic discharge reverberate through the warp. He spun to witness his psychic aid Elane unleashing bolts of psychic energy into the cultists before her. The unlucky cultists caught up in the attack started to convulse violently and as the attack continued the smell of burnt flesh filled the air as the lightning did its work.

After several seconds of unleashing psychic lightning into the oncoming cultists Elane relented. Exhausted she slumped to her knees, she was breathing heavily and on the verge of collapse. The cultists where closing in and she did not have the strength for another attack. Luckily for her captain Shaw strode forward with his plasma gun, unleashing pluses of pure energy into the oncoming hoard. Charing the cultists flesh with the power of a small sun.

Luckily for her captain Shaw strode forward with his plasma gun, unleashing pulses of pure energy into the oncoming hoard. Charing the cultists flesh with the power of a small sun.

Captain Shaw pulled the trigger again and again each pulse turning several cultists into charred corpses. The captain could feel the heat radiating off the weapon, soon he would have to let it cool down or risk it overheating but until then he would keep firing. The captain shifted position slightly ducking down behind an over turned desk. He took three deep breaths to steady his aim before bringing his weapon to bear once more.

Elane sat slumped behind the same desk, her vision was blurred and she couldn’t gather her thoughts. Her extremities felt numb and she couldn’t speak, the exhausted psyker slipped out of consciousness, sliding downwards before slumping against a column.

Captain Shaw ducked behind the desk again as a hail of auto-gun rounds passed above his head. He noticed Elane slumped against the column. “Lucky for some” he joked. His plasma gun was on the verge of overheating but he had to keep it firing. Bracing himself on the desks’ legs he stood up, firing as he did.

The light blue pluses incinerated swathes of the onrushing cultists. You had to give them credit they weren’t trained, but they sure were persistent Shaw thought to himself. He pulled the trigger back holding it down letting pulse after pulse shoot out into the sea of bodies.

As a group of assaulting cultists tried to pull down two guardsmen from the 42nd Khamlalian, Shaw swung his plasma gun and fired incinerating the cultists. Leaving the two men shaken but alive, quickly he brought the gun to bear on the cultists trying to get to grips with him.
The close range plasma blasts engraved an after image onto Shaws’ retina. The two men dropped to the ground their torsos evaporated by the close range blast. Shaw ducked down and blinked his eyes vigorously to clear the after image. As it faded he once more stood up to unleash the plasma guns fury. As he pulled the trigger the weapons cooling systems catastrophically failed destroying the plasma gun and throwing Shaw onto the marble floor, knocking him out.

As Shaw regained consciousness he was met with an excruciating wave of pain that washed over him. He opened his eyes and immediately saw the source of the pain. His fatigues on his left arm where shredded, the skin underneath severally burned and several deep lacerations ran across the inner arm. He quickly surveyed the area; Elane was still slumped unconscious against the column, two troopers had filled the gap left by Shaw. Next to them stood cardinal Helstrum, his mighty eviserator rested across his shoulders and a litany upon his lips.

Shaw sat up, using his good arm to prop himself up. He staggered to his feet and then proceeded to slowly stumble over to Helstrum and Elane. As he reached the overturned desk he tripped falling awkwardly, his fall only stopped by the column. Shaw rested his back on the column and slid down to the floor next to Elane.

His breathing was shallow and he kept fading in and out of consciousness. Shaw knew he was going to die and welcomed it, he had served the emperor faithfully and now he would get to reside at his side for eternity. As he shut his eyes his pain went away and he felt at peace.

Then a sharp pain shocked him back to life, he opened his eyes to a bright light shining in front of him. Then he was unceremoniously grabbed by the collar and shaken roughly. Crouching opposite him was an imperial guard medic; at his feet were various needles and other pieces of medical equipment.

“Captain, Captain, wake up.” The voice seemed incredibly distant. Shaw was once again grabbed by the collar and shaken roughly.

“Captain!” The voice was now much closer.
“Captain, you have got to move.” The voice strained over the din of battle.
Shaw quickly nodded a sign of approval.

“Captain I’ve given you several pain reduction drugs along with bandaging up your arm.” The medic continued.

Shaw went to stand but he was still unsteady on his feet and he stumbled, falling back against the column. The medic reached over to grab him but just then a stray lasbolt struck the unfortunate medic squarely in the temple. The crimson bolt pierced the medics’ helmet and went clean through his skull. The lifeless form of the medic dropped limply onto the floor.

Shaw stared deeply into the lifeless eyes of the medic. He felt anger that he was unable to do anything and sorrow at the loss of another brother in arms. He quickly banished all thoughts of the subject from his mind and focused on getting Elane out of harms way.

He slowly shifted round the column, to get into position to drag her to relative safety. Cardinal Helstrum and the two guardsmen were still standing behind the desk, firing into the cultist hoard. The cardinals bolt pistol rang out probably executing a wounded cultist. Shaw grabbed Elane with his good arm turning her around, he then put his arm around her and slowly dragged her backwards.

They approached the main hall two Khamlalian soldiers rushing over to help drag Elane into the relative safety of the main hall. As soon as they were inside a duo of medics rushed over to attend to Elane and himself. Only after their arrival did Shaw allow himself to once more slip out of consciousness.

Inquisitor Brouge surveyed his situation, both his psychic aid and Captain Shaw were unconscious and in need of medical treatment. Luckily though his death cult assassin and cardinal Helstrum were inflicting grievous amounts of damage to the attacking cultists.

Brouge ducked back into cover as a hail of lasbolts and auto-gun rounds sailed over his head. The only reason they where on the back foot was because of the cultists numbers. The troops that defended the spire were outnumbered at least 1000:1, the reality was probably that estimate was nowhere near close to showing how frakked they were.

He stepped out of cover and fired a sustained burst into the onrushing cultists. The high explosive rounds severed limbs with ease, yet still more rushed towards Brouge.
He levelled his storm bolter once more, squeezing the trigger tightly, he felt the kick of the weapon as it fired on full auto. Each round obliterating swathes of the cultists. Yet they still rushed on, what I wouldn’t do for a couple of squads of grey knights, the inquisitor thought to himself.

Another burst of inaccurate gunfire made him retreat back behind cover. This was becoming ridiculous, for every one they killed another one quickly replaced him. They needed a way to empty the reception room and quickly. Using his ear bead he quickly opened up a comm-channel to general Deitre. The leading officer of the 42nd Khamlalian who were defending the spire.

“General?” Brouges’ voice strained from all the shouting.

“Yes, this is general Deitre of the 42nd Khamlalian.” The reply echoed across the comm-channel.

Good Brouge thought; at least the men’s leader was still alive.
“What weapons do you think the spires armoury has in it?” Brouge questioned.

“What you after?” The gruff voice of the general replied.

    “Flamers.” Brouge asked hopefully.

After several tense seconds the generals’ voice came across the comm-channel once again. “I’ve despatched a squad to find out for you. They’ll be a few minutes.”

“Thanks general we’ll be waiting for their arrival.” Brouge replied.

He turned off his comm link to the general and opened a new one with the cardinal and his death cult assassin. “Helstrum & Operative OH0011, fall back; Flamers en route.”

As soon as he finished speaking he could see OH0011 deathly leap backwards over the makeshift barricades. A few seconds later he witnessed Cardinal Helstrum hacking his way out of the maelstrom of combat with great swings of his eviserator. As he disengaged, several guardsmen fired their lasguns into the onrushing cultist, the crimson blasts piercing the cultist’s un-armoured flesh.

He turned back towards the main hall waiting for the flamers to turn up. As he did this the fighting seemed to intensify as a fresh wave of cultists poured in. Brouge swung out of cover firing his storm bolter putting down several attackers with as many shots. He ducked back into cover to reload looking in the direction of the main hall. He slid the magazine in to the bottom of the storm bolter and once again stared at the main halls entrance.

As he was just about to turn away ten Khamlalian soldiers poured out of the main hall four of them where carrying heavy flamers. The group of soldiers kept low and scuttled down to the defence line, their squad mates covering them with laser fire as they traversed the open ground.

All four heavy flamers made it to the defence line, with their squad mates right behind them. Brouge could see them making hand signals to each other, then as one they all stood up the flamers dousing the whole foyer in flames while the lasguns laid down covering fire. The cultist had nowhere to go; the back ones pushed forward sending the front ones directly into the all consuming flames.

Their screams filled the air and the smell of burnt flesh was completely overpowering. Brouge turned and strode away into the main hall, as the flames danced behind him.

Re: The Angels Of Vengeance. A collection of short stories.

Several hours had passed since the cleansing of the foyer. Night had fallen on Geostor hive and only sporadic bursts of gunfire broke the deadness of the night. Thanks to the uprising the governors’ spire was without power and the back up generators where overtaxed already by running the infirmaries. In a desperate attempt to light the shadow filled halls the defending guardsmen dispersed copious amounts of lho-sticks to try an illuminate the spire. The sickly green light only helped to worsen the shattered minds of the men hunkered in the spires maze of halls and corridors. Their minds constantly on edge, the fear of who or what lurked in the shadows. This slowly sent them closer and closer to breaking point.

Brouge sat in one of the better lit rooms on the first floor, the light being provided by several lamp packs scattered about the room. In the centre of the room was a large gilded table, each leg was twice the size of a mans’ thigh and must have had several large jewels nestled into the wood. The surface was covered in a floral pattern that emanated from the head of table. At the head of the table sat general Deitre, to his left general Castor of the governors’ personal guard. Around the table other minor officials sat with their aids standing behind them, off to the sides of the room. At the opposite end of the table to the generals brogue sat, his head resting upon his armoured gauntlets.
planned start of second section, enjoy.

    C&C welcome as always.

Re: The Angels Of Vengeance. A collection of short stories.

this was planned to be part of the second section but the other part became larger/more detailed than expected. so that will be part of the next section/chapter.

The generals where polar opposites in almost everything, Deitre was a brute of a man, his neatly hard worn battle uniform hid his rippling muscles, while his face spoke of a veteran of a thousands wars. His face was covered in numerous scars from a lifetime of warfare but he still managed to boast a full head of pure white hair. Surprising for a man around ninety and six years, Deitre was also not born on Khaml he could tell it by the slight difference in the pronunciation of Dietres’ verbs and adjectives compared to Castors’.

Castor on the other hand was around seventy and five years Deitres’ junior. He wore a pristine dress uniform and carried an ornamental sword. His eyes shone with the same wide eyed enthusiasm that conscripts had when they joined the imperial guard. Brouge held a mild distaste for men such as his, a fine looking soldier, but in truth he probably only got in through money, bribery and the need for a good looking figurehead for the governors guard. He’d never witnessed the true horror of war, your fellow soldiers dying around you; their last moments spent praying for their life on some emperor forsaken planet.

Brouge shook his head, all this negative energy was clouding his thoughts and not helping the already stressed situation that had developed between the two main fractions.

“You’ve never had the thrill of being shot at young man. So how could you possibly think of telling me how to lead my men?” Deitre exclaimed, once again undermining Castors’ leadership.

“Because im the governors’ representative and I will not be told what to do, by some off worlder”. Castor replied, the discussion had been like this for the last hour and a half. Every time a suggestion was made by one the other would reply with their stock response. It was starting to get on Brouges’ nerves.

“Just because that thrice dammed fool has appointed you doesn’t mean I have to follow you.” Deitre rose slamming his hands down on the table with an almighty thud, causing several aids round the room to jump in terror.

“He is the emperors’ chosen ruler of this world, and as such demands your respect.” Castor rose to meet Deitre, their eyes looked in a deathly stare. This was getting heated and it would only get worse, Brouge needed a sturdy defence to be manned if they where to hold out until the arrival of the 159th Khamlalian and the Angels of vengeance.

Brouge knew of only one way that would settle this dispute of leadership that both parties would respect. He knew what had to happen but it didn’t mean he had to like it. Brouge rose to his feet making sure that everyone’s eyes where upon him.

“If you two can’t deicide between you who will lead I know of a way that will happily allow you two to ‘fight it out’ between you.” Brouges’ voice had an air of desperation upon it, the uprising combined with this would be power struggle had taken its toll on him.

“And what is that inquisitor?” Castor asked.

“A ritual duel?” Brouge replied. Hushed silence fell upon the assembled such a thing only happened on barbaric worlds such as Catachan or Fenris, not on a hive world such as khaml.

Slowly all eyes fell upon the two warring generals, Deitre quickly glanced over his shoulder at Castor and nodded in acknowledgement. Castor starred at Brouge then at the surrounding officials, he took a deep breath before he too quickly acknowledged the duel.

Brouge nodded at both men in return before speaking. “The picture room in half an hour, ceremonial weapons only. First to draw blood wins.” Brouge announced before striding off purposefully to find out the conditions of Captain Shaw and Elane. He wished he’d been able to sooner but he knew they’d understand his predicament.

After the inquisitor left all eyes once again drew close on the two generals. Castor turned to wish Deitre luck which was customary before such ceremonial duels. Deitre starred at Castors outstretched hand for a long second before pushing it away and striding out of the room his command squad in tow.

The low rumble of the combat half tracks' mark seventeen engine could barely be heard over the loud conversations of its occupants. Sergeant Casso stared out the rear of the transport marvelling at the rest of the convoy that stretched behind them. Over nine thousand men and machines trekking half way across the world to quell a rebellion in the capital. He turned to face his men, all nine of his squad-mates had been to hell and back more times than he could remember and every single face told him that it had effected them in multiple ways.
“Cass!” a voice exclaimed. The sergeant turned to see his second standing over him brandishing a him flask.
“what’s in the flask corporal?” Casso asked while motioning with his hand for the flask to be past to him.
“generals best grade amasec” the corporal said barely containing the grin spreading across his face. Handing the flask to Casso.

“you plank.” Casso exclaimed, as he unscrewed the flasks' lid and took a long drink of the contents.
After a couple of seconds he removed the flask from his lips and screwed the lid back on. On queue the corporal motioned to take the flask back. Casso stared at his outstretched hand then the flask before speaking once more. “you better not get caught with this you savlar, or their will a slap coming your way.” Casso grinned at the corporal before tossing the flask into his outstretched hands'. Then corporal Lex shuffled back to his position in the half tracks' transport compartment joining several others who sat joyously conversating about past predicaments.

Battle group 'Crowe' ETA. 5.35 hours.
    Strength: 9,500 men & 1000 vehicles
    Commander: General Dante Lao
    Status:Advancing along route 1475/A

The low rumble of the combat half tracks' mark seventeen engine could barely be heard over the loud conversations of its occupants. Sergeant Casso stared out the rear of the transport marvelling at the rest of the convoy that stretched behind them. Over nine thousand men and machines trekking half way across the world to quell a rebellion in the capital. He turned to face his men, all nine of his squad-mates had been to hell and back more times than he could remember and every single face told him that it had affected them in multiple ways.
“Cass!” a voice exclaimed. The sergeant turned to see his second standing over him brandishing a hip flask.
“what’s in the flask corporal?” Casso asked while motioning with his hand for the flask to be passed to him.
“generals best grade amasec” the corporal said barely containing the grin spreading across his face. Handing the flask to Casso.

“you plank.” Casso exclaimed, as he unscrewed the flask's lid and took a long drink of the contents.
After a couple of seconds he removed the flask from his lips and screwed the lid back on. On queue the corporal motioned to take the flask back. Casso stared at his outstretched hand then the flask before speaking once more. “you better not get caught with this you savlar, or there will be a slap coming your way.” Casso grinned at the corporal before tossing the flask into his outstretched hands. Then corporal Lex shuffled back to his position in the half tracks' transport compartment joining several others who sat joyously conversing about past predicaments and miraculous escapes.

Casso glanced once more at his men before reaching for the transports vox-set. The vox crackled for several moments before bursting into life. The driver's voice echoed over the vox, becoming distorted by the noise in the cap and in the transport bay. Casso messed with a few settings quickly and the driver could once more be heard clearly.
    “yes sergeant?” the voice asked.

“how long to arrival my good friend” Casso responded.

“supposedly five hours according to HQ but then again they're never right.” the voice chuckled across the vox. “so how you guys doing back there” the driver asked.

“well most of us are acting like the glory boys do to the gun-babies. You know telling stories of great escapes and impossible feats.” Casso responded.

“the usual then.” the driver replied once more. The vox suddenly lost coherency and no matter what Casso tried he could not resuscitate it back to life. Damn these half tracks, he thought to himself. What he wouldn't give for a chimera command tank, those never had as many problems as these half tracks do. Just then the first shell hit.

Casso was throw to the deck as it exploded. The explosion flipping the half track behind them over onto its cab, landing just inches away from the back of their half track. As it landed it threw out broken glass and bodies all over the road.. Behind it Casso could see the tail end of the convoy stopping to avoid colliding with the wrecked half track. As he watched more and more shells rained down upon the convoy throwing half tracks and gun trucks into the air. He could also already hear the loudened rumble of the mark seventeen engine as they sped up to avoid the incoming fire.

As they sped along the two lane road more & more fire was trained on them, ranging from lasguns to earthshaker cannons. The road was beginning to look like a highway to hell, burning vehicles and mutilated bodies littered the road. The half track having to weave between the carnage left by the attack. From what they'd heard on their jury-rigged vox caster the back third of the convoy was not moving and was under attack from a vastly larger force. Luckily the front two thirds were still moving and had suffered less casualties than the back third.

Casso stared at his men, he'd led them into a trap and now they likely wouldn't get out alive. His mind was scattered and he had to get control if they were to get out alive. Quickly he got himself under control and started getting his squad ready for the fight. Krane and Gideon would be important because of their grenade launchers and Lex and his gunner on the auto-cannon also needed to set up as soon as possible. A mortar shell exploded nearby shredding the canvas of the troop compartment, several people had also suffered minor lacerations including Casso who had a deep gouge cut into his left shoulder.

Lex hurried over dragging Casso to his feet, and handing him his plasma pistol, all the time with his stupid grin across his face. Once on his feet he examined the laceration to his shoulder, his flak armour had stopped the shrapnel from slicing into his torso but the shoulder armour was not as strong as the chest armour. The shrapnel had sliced clean through embedding itself into his shoulder just above his collar bone. Casso grimaced as the blood seeped through his combat fatigues onto his hand holding his chest armour.

Casso pushed himself painfully across to the shredded canvas and peered out. The sight that met his eyes made his stomach churn and he started to gag. On the left of the road a burning half track stood still, arranged around it where several charred corpses some still burning. He could see one poor bastard that had never got off the transport, his charred body hung limply off the back of the transport. Struggling to keep his lunch down Casso pulled his head back inside the transport. Then it all disappeared.

Casso awoke to find himself lying upon the hot desert sand., the sound of gunfire in the distance. His vision was blurry and it would not focus. As his senses returned he was struck by a sharp pain from his lower left leg. He struggled to look back himself not wanting to know what the pain was being caused by. Then he saw it. The remains of his half track had landed on his left leg crushing the lower part of it. He started to feel faint as he witnessed the pool of blood that his lower leg was immersed in.

Suddenly he heard footsteps off in the distance knowing not what else to do he yelled at the top of his voice. The sound that met his ears was not his usual confident Cadia born voice but a pitiful cry for salvation. He looked up to see his squad retreating towards his position every single one firing at whoever had attacked them.

Lex reached him first then Stevenson his gunner, they dropped their auto-cannon and proceeded to slowly prise Cassos' leg free. Stevenson wedged his lasgun under the frame of the ruined half track and used it lift it off Cassos' leg. As soon as they had enough clearance Lex quickly pulled Casso from under the wreckage. Then Stevenson left go of his lasgun dropping the wreckage with a loud crash.

Casso now could see the full extent of his injuries, the whole of his lower leg was completely crushed flat. Blood flowed freely from numerous tears in the flesh and several pieces of bone protruded through the skin. The look on Lexs' face told Casso all he needed to know, at least he thought the Admech would have fun crafting him a new bionic one. Lex bent down and whispered “don't worry sir the medics on his way I wont let you be a bleed out.” with that Casso shut his eyes and knew that his men were in good hands.

Lex stood up his eyes welling with tears at the loss of his friend and team mate. Standing defiantly he and the rest of the squad stood ready to make the traitors pay for every single inch of ground gained. Stevensons' auto-cannon deployed on the right while Krane and Gideon held the middle. Slowly more imperial troops retreated through their position some kept on running while others turned and stood side by side with Cassos' squad, ready to aid them in any way possible.

By the time the traitors arrived over two hundred men stood ready to defy them. Stevenson and his auto-cannon where surrounded by eight other such guns while around a dozen special weapons had now spread out along their battle line. To the rear sat six mortars ready to rain down fire from afar and arranged around Lex stood the remaining members of their squad. “no future, no past, no end.” Lex Chanted and slowly everyone took up the chant until it reached a crescendo drowning out even the bark of the guns that roared all around them. Then Lex gave the order to fire and all hell broke loose.

    >END REPORT<
    ….....................

    =][=

Castor slammed his fists down upon the table at the latest report from battle group 'Crowe'. Nine and a half thousand men almost, reduced to around one and a half thousand in forty five minutes. He slammed his fists down once more making everyone in the room jump, how could he have lost so many men I such a short space of time, he thought to himself. He buried his head in his hands, realising that now only Five hundred odd soldiers stood between the majority of the planet and the governor. There was no possible way they could hold out until the Angels of vengeance arrived.

He began to sob, realising the futility of their situation. All his aids round the room were dumbstruck of what to do. Their commander was breaking and they knew not how to fix him. Unpronounced to them a new visitor had arrived.

“Miserable wretch” the visitor interjected. The whole room was aghast to the visitors words.

Castor dried his eyes, wiping away the tears with his white silk gloves. Then he turned to face the interloper. As soon as he set eyes upon the figure he knew who it was.

“inquisitor how nice of you to join us.” Castors' sarcasm hid his fear behind a wall of self imagined confidence.
It is not your place to comment on my habits or drawbacks inquisitor.” Castor replied.

“That’s where you are wrong. It is my place to comment and if needed act upon your habits or drawbacks” He once again remarked, not even bothering to look at Castor.

“How am I wrong? How is it your business to tell men I should not feel sorrow for the loss of life that has occurred today?” Castor replied almost yelling at the Inquisitor, who in response stepped out from the shadows he had been standing in.

“Shall I tell you then? Why it is my business? Brouge asked not expecting a reply.

“Yes inquisitor please do tell us why it's your business? Castor responded putting Brouge on the back foot.

“OK then General. It is my job to root out the corruption and weakness that plagues our beloved imperium. Be that traitor, daemon or coward. Then once I have them within my grasp I will purge them from this universe. That is why your shortcomings are my Business!” As Brouge finished several of Castors' staff fled fearing the inquisitors' wrath.

“So you're here to kill me inquisitor?” Castor asked.

“Only if your death will help me bring this planet back into the imperium.” Brouge replied.
“But right now you just needed someone yelling at you to straighten your head out.” with that the inquisitor turned to leave. Just before he crossed the threshold of the room he quickly turned to admire the change brought about in Castor. He stood defiant in the presence of a man who could doom the whole word to death and the previous look in his eyes had been replaced with a different one. Brouge exited the room a grin spreading across his lips.

After the inquisitor left Castor ran his hand through his hair and smiled, now all he had to do was win the dual. With that thought upon his mind he grabbed his sword and his dress coat. Then he left the room entering the shadow filled halls of the spire, the sickly green light still illuminating the halls.

    Hope you like it.

    more on the way.

Re: The Angels Of Vengeance. A collection of short stories.

Planned start of the next section. (the dual for all you placing bets)

Castor walked purposefully along the magnificent hallway his ornate sword at his hip. He was still in his dress uniform from earlier though explosions had coated it in a fine layer of dust. His shoes impacting the marble floor echoed ominously through the darkness. He would win and he would show them all how good a leader, a warrior and solider he was. No longer did his eyes shine they were now the same eyes that all real soldiers had, cold and focused.

Deitre strode forward towards the picture room his bodyguard trailing upon his heels. He would show that upstart Castor what it meant to be a soldier, warrior or what ever that young upstart thought he was. He wore the traditional clothing from his home world, a long grey overcoat decorated in numerous medal and awards. A small knife sat nestled in the small of his back. It was concealed by the animal pelt draped across his shoulders. A ceremonial staff was fastened to his hip tracking side to side as he walked.

Castor rounded the corner his mind focused his nerves steeled. To his right stood the inquisitor who had started all of this, his retinue stood half concealed by the shadows. To his right stood his own command squad their eyes fixed upon their leader. As he went to pass them the inquisitor stepped out and stopped him, in his hands he held a casket the size of a man's leg. The inquisitors hands were held open as if gesturing for Castor to take it but why would that be?
    The plot does somethings. ...
