Pictures of the hailstorm cannon up on BoW. I have plans for a battery of them now after seeing how awesome it really is.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the Gun/Tank. It's quite a clean, crisp model. It looks perfectly functional and the colour scheme seems to work fantastically better than on the actual Forgefathers. The gunner/driver is pretty poor, awkward posing and a face straight off the Kings of War Dwarfs which I'll never love. Still with a helmet swap it might work.
Overall I like what I see. Not entirely sold yet, as I still get this niggling feeling of looking at something almost toy like, but I chalk that down to a new direction from Mantic that needs a bit of polishing.
Love it! Can't wait to have a whole bunch of them tearing up the Orx.
I really like the armoured jaws around the front.
I'll take some of those please![]()

Much nicer, bigger - than I had anticipated. Pleasant surprise there. Good show! Do we know if it's a plastic kit, or a resin-thingy? It would be nice to have some variant heads for the gunner - since having 2-3 of these will be common I'm betting.
Resin-Plastic.
Pic of the components for the hero and finally.. the Mantic round base!

A bit blurry but there looks to be some good detailing on that hero model. Good to finally see the round base too.

Looks to be restic, not metal. I was kinda hoping it would be restic, as I hate metal.
Better picture from the newsletter, without the beasts of war promo junk plastered over it:
Very happy with the look of that, looks like a bulldozer with a massive gun built in. Looking forward to the scale shots since it looks huge! Also looking forward to seeing the alternate "mega heat cannon" weapon it comes with.
In this case, the blue and overall rough mechanical style is making me think "starcraft terrans" more than anything else, which is definitely not a bad thing.
Definitely another great-looking model, will work well as a vindicator/ whirlwind in 40k. Am also glad that mantic are giving us newsletters alongside the BoW reveals so they don't pull any backstage crap on us.![]()

If you play any of Mantic's games, check out my Battlescribe project for KoW and Warpath.
The cannon and the hero look really nice.
The core troops will be the biggest factor in my decision if I buy yet another army or not, though.

Yeah, each preview I see leaves me more and more convinced that Mantic will get my money. This stuff is pure awesome.
Thats what I'm wondering too. I can't afford the big sets but I sure like that hero.
That cannon is bigger than I expected, even though Nightsword said here that it was big. I do quite like it, especially the gunner.
Don't know what colour I'd paint it, but it will be some shade of Not Blue.![]()

I'd be surprised. Typically I think their plan has been to try to release only things that would be a functional unit in and of itself. Having said that, they could increase the sprues to make a 10-dwarf "solid unit" and then throw in heavies to fit the list (3 maybe?), 1 gun and 1 hero.
And really...the starter set isn't too far off that.Other than the pile of orcs that come with it.
Is the battle damage on the shield sculpted in?
Something else that I noticed is that it really needs some steps. Reloading is going to be a pain if you have to balance on top of the tracks while carrying that big lump of a thing that holds the magazines. Even getting into his seat is going to be a hassle for a Forgefather.

List of changes that will be made from the beta to the final version of Warpath:

Alessio is interested in comments on the changes.
Some of you will be very happy to hear that the rules for cover have been simplified and the transport rules have been massively changed.

Bleh. Of the issues I raised only one was fixed, and that one only by accident.
