Cool, sounds like they'll be very nice kits. I appreciate the separate heads and arms on these and the Corp.
Are the "Scavengers" in Project Pandora Night-crawlers, Stalkers, or a completely different 3rd kit?
Will be interesting to see what ends up in the army box. Heavy weapons teams that can fit on a cavalry base might work well if crossover sales to fantasy Skaven players are intended. Jezzails (£30 for 3 finecast models, gah), Warpfire Throwers, Ratling Guns, Plague Mortars... all of these are techy enough to work for sci-fi.

The Scavengers are the Night-crawlers, I've renamed them now. The names in the army list got changed. Are the "Scavengers" in Project Pandora Night-crawlers, Stalkers, or a completely different 3rd kit?
Army list? Do tell (please!)![]()
I tell you... in Veer-myn blog week in MarchCan't tell you when that's going to be yet in case it changes. Wouldn't want to disappoint

I just think that the legs should have some sort of armour on them, especialy the more heavily armoured ones, they just look too top heavy!
As for the grey fatigues, I think that might be an old skool refrence to the first edition imperial guard

"Mantic: like GW, minus the GW-ness".
The issue with the legs is that Golem painted the boots wrong. That makes a big difference.

Looking from the front, they may appear to have skinny thighs, but that's not the way to judge them, you need a side view that determines whether or not there is a tapered curve at the back going down from the buttock to the back of the knee. Looking at the greens, they do seem to have this, but I can't honestly make a final call without having the models in-hand. The tight straps around the thigh may be creating an impression of tightness around them which adds to the impression of them being skinny.
They look like fairly nicely done true-scale with some very bulky boots to me (you can clearly see 2 very thick layers of leather on the boots, and if they are turn-ups than that would add even more bulk).
They're just not wearing baggy parachute pants like all the GW models are... and there is a lot of bulky armour on the top, making the thighs seem smaller by comparison that's where I think where the main impression is coming from. The legs hold up much better when you compare them to infinity models, the scale is pretty good. If they had armoured thigh-plates and/or kneepads, I'm not sure that we'd be discussing this right now. Look again at the models, guess where the knees are, then realise that they are in fact higher than your original guess, it's just that the flatness of the paintjob doesn't give any indication as to where they are.
Only issue I can see is a practical one, you're not gonna want that much tightness around the crotch on the battlefield. And even that assumes that the jeans are just made from denim instead of some sort of much better sci-fi material.
Another, unrelated thing which is more of a concern to me from an artistic eye is the odd inward curve on the left leg of the power fist guy. Might be a bit of warping there, though, since that legs pose looks fine on the model behind it. That leg pose is also the skinniest-looking since the legs are spread and the knees are both bent I think the issues might be restricted to one set of legs if they exist, the other 2 walking leg sculpts and the seated legs strike me as a lot more natural-looking.

really dissapointed by the 8th race. skaven in space doesn't cut t for me, and going by the initial rumours, was expecting something a lot more orignial.
The corporation on the other hand are pretty nice. Might buy some as IG if the price is reasonable
I hear you. I was never a fan of Skaven myself, so these would not have been my first choice for the 8th race. I've always felt they looked much too cartoony for my tastes, I would have liked something more savage and realistic looking. My fingers are still crossed for Mantics insect race though.
Like you, the standout Warpath race for me so far is The Corporation.
This is true, I was expecting some kind of crazy ass army, maybe energy life forms cast in clear or coloured resin! Instead you have Skaven in space (and try as you might, you won't ever escape that comparison).
Corp look pretty good for scifi human models, will we be seeing any tanks or vehicles comming up?
Familiarity, the first myth of reality: What you know the best you observe the least.
Devotion, the second myth of reality: The faithfull are most hurt by the objects of their faith.
Conviction, the third myth of reality: Only those who seek the truth can be decieved.
Fellowship, the fourth myth of reality: As the tides of war shift, so do loyalties.
Trust, the fifth myth of reality: Every truth holds the seed of betrayal.
Never liked Imperial Guard as an army option, I won't be spending on the Corp either (although I do like the ironic humour behind the name and the little fluff so far).
Always liked Skaven so rats in space will be getting my money.
The sooner we get some releases the better.
The full Aggressive Negotiations story (teased at in the recent Corporation Dossier) is now on-site. Go here to read the full story of the Associated Reid Conglomeration and their evil machinations with the indigenous of Hadax.
Cheers

If there's compatible Globadiers, Jezzails and heavy weapon teams, the 8th race could do pretty well on the cross sales appeal alone. Seems like an interesting take that can cover those units (which are in dire need of an alternative, are overpriced, or could use some variety) and avoid directly competing with the core skaven army (which GW has covered very well recently), and covers another GW fanboy niche (space skaven, like the return of squats has been hashed over a thousand times).
Good call decker.
Space skaven were a smart move to release.
Not to everybodys taste or flavour but for those like myself who have a soft spot for the look and the idea of space skaven they will be a good earner for mantic.
I'll certainly find a use for them in space hulk.
In the Grim Darkness of the Far Grim Dark there is only Grim Darkness, and skulls.
The Host of the Maggot King - A Nurgle WoC PLog
I liked it.
It was fast paced and a little bit cheesy, which you need to bring a character like Reid to life.
It wasn't bad at all
I've read worse elsewhere thats for sure.
So the corporation are not to be trusted.
Excellent.
Makes for some good interesting Machiavellian plot lines to come forward thropugh the mix in time to come.
