The bare head on the "leader" is just...bad. It's like his snout's been a bit melted and is drooping or something.
The pose on the "triplets" is awkward, but not awful. Put 5 helmeted/masked heads in the set and it's not bad. Swap out the drill weapon for a hand holding an orb/grenade and you'd probably have quasi-decent Globadier stand-ins.
Two bodies, two sets of arms - the rifle man looks to be one piece.

Whilst I'm disappointed at the lack of variety, I think what puts me off the models, like a lot of Mantics latest releases, is how "busy" the model is. There's so much going on that there doesn't seem to be a focal point for the eye to focus on with a cursory glance, or to allow a painter to shine and pick out key details. Contrasting this with the early fantasy miniatures (which have their own issues) the models were generally clean and simple with nice focal points.
I'm also confused because it looks like some of the Veer-myn are a bit boar like, or based on creatures other than rats. If that's the case then the execution is flawed, if not, then either I'm seeing things or some of the sculpting is iffy.
It is fairly clear from the photos there are 3 bodies etc.
I like them, I think rats in space is a fun idea... I will probably buy an army to set unopened and unpainted![]()
i'm really liking the Veer'myns. i just have to finish painting and assembling my ork ultimate army. lol

Ah, the guns so close to the body that I assumed it was all cast as one![]()
I'm quite surprised that the tails are part of the model, and those cables on the arms as well.

Easily snipped off I guess if you don't want them on there.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye... and then it's just fun!

I believe the tails were snipped off after the photo was taken and a tab was added to slot them in. Very sturdy.
Yeah, a helmet upgrade pack might be nice. I'm thinking about getting some just to practice painting rust and battle damage. I just wish they had helmets!
1000 posts! Wow.
I was thinking more about the casting - it'd be rather awkward given the shape and size![]()

Seems to be another Mantic Marmite Moment - some people think the head is ace lol. I'm a fan of the gas mask heads personally, but each to their own.Now you just need to add in more helmeted heads so we can avoid "Doofy Leader Syndrome"
Apparently the models are in the warehouse tomorrow, so I'll be doing another Unboxing in Photos for both the Night-Crawlers and the Nightmares if anyone's interested.
^ Sounds good, unboxings so we can see the exact box contents are always good!
Especially with the resin plastics and multi-part metals/ hybrids where it isn't always clear what you get in the box until you get it. Definitely do it when the new abyssal dwarfs come out, there was a lot of confusion the first time around about how much of each metal part comes with each set.
In general, people want to know stuff like "is the command optional?" for KoW sets and "how many of each special weapon?" for Warpath sets.
