Well, I always have two current projects, but all m armies are in a mode of continuous growth. I don't tend to plan them, just buy what I like for them and adjust them as I go.
Current projects are a Winged Tyrant, a Squad of Assault Terminators and a night goblin.
Course, the more critical thing for me is my attempt to paint everything I own! And that is an ongoing project which is 35% complete...
Warhammer Armies: Empire, Night Goblins, Dwarves, Daemons of Chaos
40K Armies: Chaos, Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Chaos Daemons, Tyranids, Tau
Epic Armies: Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Orks, Adeptus Titanicus.
BFG Forces: Imperial Navy, Chaos.
See them all here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showth...-of-everything
Define "project".I've got unpainted models for five 40K forces of various size, a Warhammer army, five Epic armies, four Blood Bowl teams, a fleet for Battlefleet Gothic, four Necromunda Gangs, a Mordheim warband, a Warmaster army, a Warmachine army, three Malifaux crews, two Infinity armies, a MERCS team, several Urban War forces, a couple of armies for Flames of War ... and many, many more, including several ranges of minis for no game in particular.
At the moment, the only thing actually on the go is the demo table for the Empire of the Dead game my club is putting on at the Scottish wargames shows this year. After that, I want to finish the Terminators from Space Hulk and get some more Infinity models done.
I normally have way to many on the go, and then I'll start something else. Currently I have a Nids WIP, building Tau, Black Templar WIP, and a Bretonnians WIP. To name a few. I'll spend a long time painting one thing, and then it starts to feel like my mother projects are being forgotten about, and I'll look at them, then I'll want to re-paint or change something, which discourages me, and then I go back to my current project.
I discovered years ago that, unless restrained, I would run about eight projects at once. Since this means I rarely finish anything (and my other half gets annoyed), I now limit myself to one Fantasy and one 40k project at a time.
I am old enough to remember when White Dwarf reviewed books and RPGs.
Proudly Warhammer's most cynical player.
Hmm... here's my current list:
1) Finish up painting my UN Imperial Guard (been in abeyance for over a year, however, so don't hold your breath!)
2) Add to my Narnian Beastman army. Open-ended, so hard to say where that will go.
3) Build a Flames of War British Airborne army. Over halfway done, and adding a platoon a week! I'll probably be done in 1-2 months.
4) Terrain projects. Another open-ended thing.
5) Odds and ends.
I like to mix up the various projects, so I don't get too tired of any particular thing. Ever since painting almost 200 Imperial Guard infantry in one continuous slog, I do that to stay sane.![]()

I used to flit between armies every couple of months but now I am attempting to clear a bit of the backlog so have a variety of units on the go simultaneously. I like to paint 3-4 models at a time so will often basecoat and wash one group of models then do some detail work on a different group. I find this keeps things interesting, although it can be tough to get motivation for the last couple of models in a unit sometimes!
Captain Marius
"Though it might take my dying breath, I will banish you from this world that your reign of evil be brought to an end" - last words of Lord Witch Hunter Andreus Stern
Slaaneshi Daemons who are gradually getting painted (I did have to decide they Daemonettes would wear squad distinguishing body paint)
An Ork Warboss and Nob entourage that's pretty much the same age as the AoBR box.
A Renegade IG started about a decade ago, it's undergoing something of a conceptual revamp ATM, but is progressing slowly.
My Standard Steel Legion army has several reserve squads that need painting, not to mention umpteen Chimeras that need finishing.
Imperial fists, about 25% completed from 2 Codexes ago, the entire 5th Commpany with support from the 1st and 10th.
A scratch built Slaanesh Hel Strider.
On top of that I'm fiddling about with a couple of ideas for an Emperor's children warband that I've been contemplating since the mid 90's and a back-boiler Inquisitorial warband that exists mainly as an excuse to paint models I like the look of and to try out a few conversions for fun.
Oh, and I've been toying with the idea of an Ogryn army. 30 Oggies in one IG list accompanied by a few guardsmen who've annoyed the brass.

Brimstone. Gone but not forgotten.
How many projects do I run simultaneously?
My answer is simple:
Too many.![]()
WOC tactics:
1. March 8''
2. Gateway + Treason
3. Charge
4. Gateway + Treason
5. Throw alot of dice
6... PROFIT!
1. Revise for exams
2. Finish off My Thousand sons (Not sure what this will mean, say 2000-2500pts? will include 5 more terminators, possibly Tartaros pattern and/or a contemptor)
3. Finish off my Iyanden Eldar (see above)
4.Finihs off my Warriors of Tzeentch fot fantasy (or at least get a playable force..)
5. Paint my Battlefleet Gothic Stuff.
6. Assemble and paint my Call to arms: Star fleet stuff
7. Finish the titanic kit I got years ago in a magazine and help my mum with the Garden.
8.Gym and swim more like crazy :P
Must admit though, I'm fairly tempted to add a pre heresy/heresy era Salamanders force or an Emperor's children one using mainly Forge world bits, including a Vulkan and Minotaur or a Centaur Daemon prince respectively.

Currently on my desk:
Necrons (Wraiths, Immortals, Crypteks, Lychguard)
Genestealer Cult (Brood Brothers, Magi)
^Shameless plug
Epic Marines (lots!)
I made a Genestealer Cult! --- 2nd edition Tyranid army!
Mat Ward Fact #27- His super power is invulnerability, his only weakness being an allergy to Halflings.
Guild up and join the Mat Ward Defence League!
Hmm...
1) Paint up Legion, Skorne, and Circle models for Hordes
2) Assemble giant pile of Dark Eldar, then paint the rest of them
3) Finish off my Anima Wissenschaft group (which seems to keep growing...as though they were multiplying themselves)
4) Work on Vampire Counts if I ever bother to get some Core.
5) Add Necron models to taste.
H'mm.
I've have quite a few projects in waiting, but on the go right now:
Tyranids. Finish what I have in the next 3 weeks for a big full army photo shoot.
Several photo shoots with actual people models in the arrangement stage.
Get through the pile of shame game backlog for my PS3 (currently at 10!).
Projects lined up for the future: Continue with my terrain building (rubble, roads etc), my epic tyranid army and the large backlog of individual models for display / rpg use (just had soda pop's Fiametta relic knight delivered...)
At this immediate moment, I'm painting several space marines, building a 3' x 3' victorian era city board for Malifaux, painting several dust tactics models, painting 5 warmachine models, 3 or 4 anima models, an aegis defense line, terrain from the Battle for Maccrage set, and an inquisition-themed rhino. There are another 200 models waiting for paint on my desk, and another 200 or so at my parent's house that will be cycled onto the desk when space allows.
And then I'm getting ready to give it all up for a few years when I go to Law School this August.
A little Plog (Updated June 8, 2013)
Agreed.
I am currently working on:
Setting up a gaming club in my town
Ultramarine Demo Army for Game Club
Goff Orks Demo Army for Game Club
Biel-Tan Eldar Army for Game Club
Adding to my Angels of Vengeance Army (Dark Angels Successors)
Adding to my Imperial Guard Army
Updating my Space Wolves
Updating my Dark Eldar
Updating my Necrons
Updating my Blood Angels
Occasional Orks for my Evil Sunz/Speed Freeks
I have far too many irons in the fire right now. And that's just 40K!![]()
![]()
Too many like the rest of you:
1. Put metal plates in my dwarf movement trays
2. Assemble and paint my 3k WoC army. It's mostly in boxes, about 1/2 unpurchased
3. Finish painting and basing my Draigowing. Only 17 minis but so little time.
4. Finish painting my Khador. 2/3 done. Assemble Karchev.
5. Finish assembling and painting Troobloods (so much not done).
6. Either finish or sell my ork Ghazgull / meganobz / battlewagon wing.
7. Finish assembling and painting 2.5k Eldar army - 1/2 done.
8. Finish painting my Legion of Everblight.
9. Finish my 40k demon army (4 heralds on chariot to go).
And other smaller stuff. It seems like I've done nothing over the last year and I'd dispute that. I've done next to nothingMaybe these threads should be called "Cool projects you have finished in the last gaming year!

40k armies: GKs; Eldar; Deathguard, Demons
WHFB: Dwarves, Lizardmen, High Elves, VC, Demons, WoC
I try to stick with one project at a time, but there always comes a time when another project starts calling out to me...
Currently working on Deathwing (just 10 terminators and a Crusader left)
Though I have recently bought 1500 points worth of Bretonnians....
I'm thinking of starting 40K alongside Fantasy, so two? I do run a lot of other projects that are non-GW related. I'm a very busy man.![]()
used to have many... but I've become more disciplined as I've gotten older. I now keep it to one, planned out before purchases are even made. Finish it, then move on. I always used to end up with a table full of unpainted minis, and the sight was just overwhelming. How would I finish this all? So I keep it to one squad at a time. No purchases are made until that squad is finished.
I really helps me with the paint jobs, as I don't rush to finish off something to get onto the next thing. Also, I've found that having multiple different minis on the go, results in me forgetting my personal approach to a unit or army. Right now I'm working on Black Legion... I've got a good system that is working for me. If I changed that up for a few weeks, and painted something else, I'd have to restart my assembly line for the BL.
So I keep it to one large army sized project at a time, taken one unit at a time.
Hmm current projects:
1. Chaos Warhound
2. Paint the last of my Deathwing and rebase whole army
3. Assemble and paint the last of my Dark Angels
4. Assemble and paint 6-7k of Tyranids
5. Assemble and paint 4-5k of Orks
6. Assemble and paint various terrain pieces
7. Buy more Krieg
Now to find the time.
