    Ork outpost

I have been playing and painting for many years but I never had a board of my own. I´ve decided to take a brake from my Bile-tan army to create a gaming board with an ork theme. First I want to make a board and enough terrain to get playing asap. I´ll start off with some smaller and simpler pices. Later on I´ll get to the bigger. Since the time aspect is of importance, I opted to use the GW battle board and some premade terrain to start with. Later on I plan to make the terrain mostly myself.
So long I´ve done the board and the GW ork obstacles.

Board looks different, wasn't sure at first but it is growing on me. It looks alien without going overboard. Kind of gives me the impression of the planet bleeding.

The obstacles are cool, quality work. The only thing I would suggest though vary your colours a bit. Do keep a yellow theme, just mix it up with the odd blue piece or something. Orks do have unifying colours for clans (bad moons in your case I believe), however they are not overly fussed and loot so much from each other, things do get a bit mixed.

    Really impressive board.
As that is an ork board, I shutter at the thought of what the brownish stuff leaking out may be.

Looks really nice. Like Shadey said, it's alien without going OTT. The craters also look lovely.

Fortsätt så! Could we expect Ork buildings?

lol thats how bad a quality they are! they are proper GW terrain released for planetstrike supplement but were cheap vacuum formed bits. Your painting has bmade them look a lot better.

Your overall table is visually very nice any thoughts on building broken barrels/ammo dumps that you see in dawn of war games?

    Re: Ork outpost

Love how you've painted the board, works really well.

Did you decided what the leaking browny red is? for example it could be rust if the earth has a lot of iron in it and under ground water wells..

One thing I would reccomend is mix up the colours a little for the leaky bits, add some lighter washed of black and brown in places.

Also where the red is coming out in wide fans over the ground I think it would work better if you dry brushed on a bit of the grey to blend it in to the board more, it looks a bit artificial at the moment.

This isnt criticism, just a few suggestions, overall what youve done so far is supurb and I look forward to seeing more!

Suggestions are allways apreciated. I´m thinking the leaking stuff might be some kind of substance used for fuel. Buildings are coming. As I mentioned before, I´m working on a landningpad. I´ll post some pics later. I didn´t know the pices where from planet strike. In deed they are remarcably low cuality for for a GW product. Specially if you consider the pricetag if you buy the directly from the store. Still the turned out ok, and where easy and fast to paint.

Here are some GW woods. I tryed to make them more 40k with the barrels. The lizards are jungle swarms from fantasy. Maybe these aren´t that "orky" or fit in with the rest of the table but I wanted some terraing to start playing now. The woods are easy and fast, so I decided the ad them meanwhile.

    Re: Ork outpost

As you can see, this is a pice of GW terrain. Once again, disapointing cuality. Even though it´s mostly details, it took a lot of greenstuff to fix most of the flaws in the pice. I´m theaming the terrain with a lot of BA bitz.I got some really humiliating pices for them coming up:evilgrin
I used hairspray and salt for the rhinos wheathering. I removed all the "balls" from the trees and used greenstuff the make them look like broken branches. THe banner is from the terminator box.
