Bretonnian Mousillon Army "Guardians of Guerac Circle"

Hello everybody... Have been some time out of the WFB. Now I,m back and starting to resurrect my Bretonnians army.
About 8 years earlier I get some small ( about 1,5K ) army... I've painted it in standard multi-heraldry/multi-colour scheme ( poor painting btw ).

then 4 years ago I left my army. It went to box under my desk and since then until this year it get dusty.
Now out of the dusted box, with my mind opened for conversions and some better painting skills...my Bretonnians have a good reason to be happy

So... maybe some of the background for my army... Unlike most of the Mousillon army my is not an Undead army... no no!!!... They are true protectors

of the Land, Lady of the Lake and divine couple of Taal & Rhya... as a big fan of these pair I have to added them in the army theme , luckily

in the WFB RPG Bretonnian textbook I've found something about "Guerac Circle" inside the Bratonnia borders. It is some kind of ancient stone circle

    belong to Taal.
So easy to say it will be a bunch of Knights and Taal worshipping peasants.

My painting skills are something better than average quality and modelling... hmm... lets say I'm just starting my adventure with green stuff

So... please give me some ideas and constructing criticism

At the beginning some of already painted Knights of the Realm:

    KotR Gallant:

    KotR:

As You can see I make them with black armour... If you have some ideas how to improve the look please give me some advices.

Pretty cool work so far! I like the yellow/red/black theme a lot! The heraldry is freehand, right?

Fantastic colors. I also like your idea though I'd like to see forest ground rather than cobblestones at the bases to go with it.

First thanks everybody for your comments!

    Indreth: yes, heraldry is freehand

doc_cthulhu: that will be probably the only one unit with cobblestone at bases, this is intended to make a highway (the unit filler will be some zombies that were smashed to the ground and some bloody hoofprints :P).

The yellow, black and red is a very strong colour scheme. Keep it up, because these are looking great!

    ...Thanks for all your posts!

Brady: I've used Red Gore groundwork and then highligh with Blood Red-Red gore mix, BR up to BR-Skull white mix.

Meraklis: For my yellow I've used Bestial Brown as groundwork, and then mix of Golden Yellow with BB up to mix of GY/Skull White.

Now I,m working on some new Yellow on my KotR SB. Using SW as a groundwork...this is some prologue for my experiments with White spray(until now I,ve been using only Black).
Here is the result of SW groundwork on my KotR SB:

Re: Bretonnian Mousillon Army "Guardians of Guerac Circle"

As I thought about "doc_cthulhu" post I considered that my knights units will be placed on non forest bases. Kotr - highway, Errants - graveyard. But my peasant units will swarming on true forest bases .
...It will be very difficult for Knigts to move across the wood.
I'm thinking about one unit of knights devoted to Taal (grail knigts maybe) that will be moving across the forest, but it will be difficult to make them in order with the fluff (the rights of Taal forbidden to wear armour or steel weapon ).

KotR SB is almost ready ( for variety's sake I added some blue to him ) only the main banner ground stay empty... This twisted shape make my some trouble. Thought about dragon but it will be almost not visible ... Any ideas?

Loving the yellow, great work on it.

As for a suggestion, how about a sword that goes the length of the banner?

Looking good so far, love the checks on the musician, you should model up your hand weapons as hammers and maces, as any D&D fan knows far better for powdering skeletal bones then a sword!

Great stuff so far, never enough bretonnian logs so it's nice to see a new one.
Good job the yellow, I like the warm tone to it. The introduction of the blue on the
standard bearer looks great, really nice colour, and I always like variation in Bretonnia
    armies.
Errants look great with the plain helmets too.
    Keep it up!

When will you paint your damsel? It's really nice sculpted!
