    Iron Hands

    Hi Folks

Looking to start up playing epic, and i'm wanting to do a marine/mechanicus army.

The troops will all be marine, but i want to use some of the soon to be released spartan games landships as super heavies or land raiders, depening on scale.

Are there any rules for Iron hands floating about? or indeed skitari Mechanicus? that are free and such, or can i buy them anywhere?

    cheers

There are a few ammendments/unts in the NetEpic Adeptus Astartes list (second one down, pgs 12-13) also all rules/army lists for the whole game (Adapted from 2nd ed Space Marine/Adeptus Titanicus) are completely free.
Trying to convince Warseer that GW are anything less than perfect is like trying to teach a horde of zombies that lettuce is a perfectly acceptable alternative to brains.

This is an excellent resource for epic lists:

It's worth pointing out that epic lists as a rule range from fully playtested, official and (fairly) balanced rules to one-off fan lists and everything in between..

    Re: Iron Hands

    Cheers for the help guys

I think after looking over those lists, i may just use the normal marine rules, and paint up my models as Iron hands/Salamanders, and use the ornate stuff from Spartan as shiny things such as land raider commands etc, rather than the Super heavy stuff.

I'll be playing net epic as we have 6-8 players at my local club starting this up this year.

Its amazing how much, and how little some epic stuff goes.

Out of interest, the marine HQ set on GW website, how many models does it come with? there are 13 models shown, and it says on 5 strips.

does this mean 2-4 models per strip, or 6-8 and they only show you the different sculpts?

I ask as the terminators show all 8 bases.....

I find the best way to do "weird" armies in Epic, and actually get a game with them is to use an official list (SM, IG, Orks, Eldar etc) and just proxy the weird elements.

So run your Spartan games thingies as SHT, or Warhound titans. That way your army looks nice, plus noone can accuse you of seeking out a broken fan list.

I play Epic Armageddon so this may prejudice my view, i understand other rulesets are more flexible on this.

You should pop over to the Tactical Command Epic forum, it's the busiest one on the web and you'll get lots of great help.

    Re: Iron Hands

Hi guys, after getting my stuff from gw an ebay, looks like i may have overbought, and have enough for a chapter.

Im thinking of painting them as salamanders, but using the normal marine rules for them to start with. When i get confident enough with the rules, i'll then swap to using the net epic salamanders rules.

The guys im playing with will be using net epic 5.0 anyways so its not much of a change, once ive figured the rules out.

New question, ive heard there are good mechwarrior models available to use as titans, and wondered if people have any other options they want to share in this regard? Pictures would be great too. I'm not to interested in the GW versions atm, due to price.

You might want to PM the guy with a pretty titan picture as an avatar above and see whether he might know of someone who makes some...
