Empty shells - A Thousands Sons Project Log

    Hello all

Ive been a 40k collector for over 8 years now(started when i was 8!!), and have had many armies on the go at a moment (salamanders, eldar, ork, chaos) with painting quality varying from aweful to reasonable.

So now ive decided to focus on painting quality reather than amount painted and have decided to try my hand at the Tzeentch aspect of chaos. Ive already painted 2 squads of sons, a squad of chosen, some horrors, flamers, and a lord of change.

And without further ado, here are some of my models.

    Criticism is welcome

Firstly, Ku'srae - Lord of Change

    His herald, Ru'tres

A forge world thousands sons dread

Some chosen with rhino in desperate need of doors

and finally the traditional army shot

Nice army! However, although I congratulate you on the smooth gold and yellow finishes, you need a darker highlight for the robes for the chosen, Adeptus Battlegrey maybe. And also the greater deamon may need a small amout of wash to add some depth. Otherwise good job!

I love the add of Dark Angels into the Thousand Sons! Good future with your collecting.

Nice battle, great terrain too. Laughed a bit at the lone salamander caught up in all the fighting

The forge world doors arrived through the post only yesterday, but managed to get them finished. I also got 2 more rhinos to make the army mostly mechanized.

I'm going to redo this raider, to transport my terminators. Do you think i should put Ahriman with them, or put him with another squad.

I've done 3 of my havocs, with anther 2 on the bench

    Very good plog m8.

Try a Badab black wash on the blue, followed by a drybrush of your main colour. it would make them look even nicer.

    PS: Love the Flying Terminator!

Yeah i agree with Agriss, honestly if you put devland mud or badab black on these guys they would look soooo cool! Washes make models i think it just makes them look awesome.

Re: Swampman does a Thousands sons plog

its been ages since my last post, but here we go again.

    Ive done a fair amount since the last post, adding;

    another squad of terminators

    a new style horror squad,

    with changeling,

2 more rhinos, a land raider

and finally, a heavily converted chaos dreadnought, originally a dreadknight!!

being attacked by the emperor.....liza the famiy cat!!

    Nutter!!

I've now got quite a large army now, but will still be looking to add to it. I'm thinking another squad of 1k sons + rhino, maybe some screamers. I don't want to buy to much as i am waiting for the chaos legions codex launch, which sounds pretty intresting

I'm off to salute next week, so hopefully some good bargains to pick up. What do you think i should get next to fit in with the fluff??

    Till next time...

really nice little force you got going on here. Think a wash of black would do wonders on your already nicely painted mini's. just help to bring out the detail.

Re: Swampman does a Thousands sons plog

Well it is been a long time, but im back. I never manage to get much done in the summer, mainly due to the cricket season and this year the olympics. But the rain has come back, and painting watching the football is a my idea of a good afternoon.

Ive done some terrain to start with and re-based my whole army. The grey was not working for me, so ive gone for a muddy grassland look, which i think is much better.

I havent quite finished it, still need to do the eyes, tart up the lightning and do the base.

    This ones waiting for spraying

I haven't brought anything yet just waiting for the new releases.

    Till then
