So i recently finished university, and since i have a life again, i'm back in the hobby.

So whats in store? well, i used to own a large ork force (technically i still do, its just in a box in another part of the country) and i felt like building something....

Now, i'm not know for starting small, and rather than break that cycle i thought i'd start big. So, its my pleasure to introduce my latest project; an ork army with a super heavy (leviathan style) tank. Since this is going to chart the armies progress, here is the base for said tank;

So, i've run out of superglue, however i've got some basics thrown together, this is how its starting to shape up, though admittidly needs more cannons. lots more cannons. thinks hows moving castle...

On another note I take it you've seen howl's moving castle, is it any good? Rachael keeps trying to make me watch it as she loves all the studio ghibli (or whatever they're called) films. I keep finding ways to avoid the situation though

don't. they're worth it, they're some of the best movies i've seen.

ok, so i'm running into some self design issues with the tank, so i've started using the spare foamcore to make the frame for something else. a fighta bomba;




not much to look at i know, but i felt this thread needed a update to show i've not just moved on from another project. i've started work on the engine sections, once i figure out how i'm modelling the take end i'll start working my way to towards the front.

this and this are the rough inspirations, though obviously vague is the word since it'll be fairly different when done.

not much of an update, but i figured wth. i'e skinned most of it, start building the engines and front...




this thread is actually going to become the home to my ork revamp and paint up, including the rebuilding and repainted of two scratch built stompas.... i may also buy a ork in a skirt model (the stompa)

Some more updates, though i'm running out of plasticard again, i'll have to scavange around as i'm sure i had more then 4 sheets...





i've also started painting some models for my other orc army, and future a side project that'll become a log at some future point. the only hit i'll give is Etogaur.

Nice to see progress! Keep it coming. I buy my plasticard (or styrene plastic as its also called) from a local shop that makes all sorts of plastic products. I think I got 6 square meters for some 6-7 dollars....

wow, those vehicles are looking great. I'll be keeping an eye on this...

want to make some flyers of my own at some point.

as for plasticard; its not a worry.... i ran out of glue first. buying more tomorrow along with some.... special ingrediants. in the mean time, i decided to treat myself, since one wing is nearly done, i wanted to try painting it in the basic scheme before i do any serious detailing/aging/ect, so here's a sort of treat for me and a preview for you all.

ok, results are in for the testing. i've spent about 30 minutes turning half a orange chalk stick into rust, and this is the result;






i think its worked pretty well, i might try for some other less vivid colours or mix in more brown and yellow dust to break up the coloring but all in all it think it works quite well. gonna need to find some more rust coloured sticks though,

WOW that worked great! Did you just rub it on or stick it? Nice progress on the bomber btw

its glued down with pva, left to dry a bit, then with a slightly damp brush you rub off or rub in whatever is still loose on the surface.

Ok guys, i need some help.i saw these grot tanks and i've decided i've got to have some. however, i would like to.. eh.... look at the rules for them. if anyone can provide a link or a pm with a look at these rules i'd be very greatful. expect updates later on with my first tank.

before anyone asks, i've only got scraps left so i can't do much for the bomber till i put a plasticard order in next week. besides, i could easily complete one of these today and have a finished sexy funny model to show for an mekkish impulse.

ok, so i was able to find what i was looking for and after about 4 hours of riveting i was able to put together the first grot tank.




i'm going to try finish it tonight, but it may take a little more time. what do we think?

ok, now for a step by step of how i finished this little beauty.

step 1; normal paint job.


step 2; add your oil paint rust and dirt.


step 3; sugar coat it with all that lovely rusty spice.
