I had issues with the original design and casting materials, so when i next go on a plasticard binge in mid september i'm going to redesign and reboot the whole process, so i can bring out a better looking, better designed and more cost effective tank! (i.e cheap enough to field 4 of them without feeling like you've been ripped off)

And thanks! yeah, i work in plastic usually, so superglues always done me, that and i've got a whole host of tricks for my more complex builds, this is the first time i've ever faced a model and thought 'feth... i need to pin this'. Guess a warboss is not the sort of thing you can completely rebuild and then superglue when there are massive gaps in its body....

p.s. your right about red and dirty, its why i'm doing clean and yellow with my classic orks. i feel its time to show off more than just rust and dust.

Update time! Finished another tank, done in the usual red dust and rust.





And i may have gotten a bit ahead of myself with the warboss.... i eh.. sort of did his banner before i finished building the rest of him.

That banner is fantastic, really great freehand there G.Hawke! The Warboss is good, too many mega armoured warbosses look like thakra, but you have pulled it off

@razor and converter; thanks guys! glad you like it, might do a little more work after the paintjob on the whole warboss... but i think it looks ok atm.

So this updates coming a little sooner than i planned to, but i made a final push on the warboss, and so once the GS sets, the excess trimmer and the details added (maybe some rivets) he'll be ready to for action.

Great pose on your warboss, G Hawke. One thing I will say is use a needle file on the pincer points - they are slightly warped in the latest pics (this happens with me when I cut plasticard too). Do you have any rivet type bits? Maybe add some to his shoulder pads and the chin.

However, I'm sure he would still look cool without these things - a little painted chipping would probably have the same effect.

ok.... so i'm ludicrously ill with man flu, as a result my next update is a bit weak... On the otherhand, should arrest some of the outstanding issues.




and following this design for a warboss i'm making a stompa;




so the basic works on the warboss, i added the details such as rivets and shaving the klaws, though i've just noticed the rivets peeling upwards so i need to fix that.

I usually lurk, but this thread is really cool. Not sure why you don't get many comments. Particularly like the lobba and zapper tanks.

I'd personally like to see the warboss made as a warboss... but sure the gargant will look cool as well. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comment dude! yeah, i'm tempted to do it when i buy a finecast ghaz, but after doing the metal one; never again. they are a nightmare to modify.

Beautiful work! love the warboss and that tank. Just a question, what size plasticard do you use?

Varies, for armour i use the medium... like 0.5 i think? for detailing i use the thinnest (0.05 i think). its worth having a range of thicknesses and then work out what will be the best for the outcome you want.

Now... This is far from my finest hour, but i thought what the hell i'll shove it up for ridicule. this is my still drying bloodthirster. I've had it on my shelf as a wip for about 18 months, i finally decided to rush a paintjob and get it done.





The base will basically be liquid blood once the varnish dries and stops looking like pink spunk. I don't own brass paint, see no reason to start now, so its... rusted metal! suprise suprise!

Any comments? ridicule is acceptable and encouraged.

So... its been just a few days since i fell ill... but during that time a rebellion has begun!





still fairly work in progress, but he's looking ok considering i had to rebuild his right foot and left hand because i managed to buy a model from ebay without either.

So i've been quiet for an unusual amount of time... but i've ordered some re-enforcements which includes;


thats some more warriors for my oldschool army

and now for my battlwagon early WIP; so far just blocked out some of the basics;

Ok small update, i'd hope for a larger one but because englands in the middle of 80mph winds and i'm on a island in the middle of the irish sea the post office can't do jack squat. why? because niether boat or plane is liable to try and cross in this sort of weather, and even if they have i suspect i've been let down by darksphere.co.uk and there previous 2 days from purchase to delivery time tables. It doesn't help my dad's borrowed my drill so i can't even cut the barrles for the bigshootz which will live in the housings shown below.






The last two photo's show the new heavier armoured front, and the fact the rolla is twice the size of the average ork boy. Don't let the raider fool you, this things a beast.
