Yeah, I'm going to have to go back and fix a few things up like the blood. Thanks for the tip, have heard good things about that red.

Will also have to get some gloss varnish for the gems, will be sorting all of that out when the army is ready for basing and sealing.

I had a play around with it and had to cut it up a little to fit. I gave up on trying to find a suitable sized 'bird' head

I probably should of thought a bit more about colours before I started painting/shading, armour and skin will be tricky to tell apart...

Edit: yes, I know the armour is supposed to blend into the flesh, just have not figured out the paint scheme to achieve it yet

Simple effect, simple technique:

- Source object painted completely white (a couple of thin layers up to full colour).
- Thin wash (watered down paint) of bright 'glow' colour over white object.
- Wet directional brush strokes of coloured wash (whatever is left on the brush) away from source object on closest, direct line-of-sight, non-glowing surfaces.
- dry brush (whatever is left on brush or non-diluted colour paint) till faded, on further away surfaces.

Some objects highlighted with 'glow' colour + white on hot spots of object.

Takes less time to do than to write about

I have a Dark Vengence set that I may add to this army, just waiting on the new codex to figure out how it might work.

This army looks really cool. I especially like the blue, which is bright enough to almost look bioluminescent. I also like the Prince's converted mask, with the cyclopean eye-crest-thing (looks a lot like a particular interpretation of Magnus the Red's cyclopsness). I like that you gave the Horrors blue feathers to tie them to the main theme. I like the OSL on the Sorcerer.

Still need to sort out the blood effects.

I have begun painting the magnetized Lightning claw arms (half have already been completely shaded/highlighted), and have tried out a few different test paint schemes on the claws themselves.

I'm trying to achieve a semi-realistic style of lightning claw. I'm not sure if I will succeed

Will probably go with the Mid glow (these pictures are a little poor), and highlight the glowing edges more and throw out a large glow effect on close surfaces.

Very nice army - getting smooth yellow and gold can be tricky and often thickly applied but everything looks really good and coherent - I hope Thousand Sons gets the rules to back up their fluff in the new codex.
