Sorcerer and Terminators done, just need to base and add decals (because I'm bad at freehand).
So here is a photo Explosion:

Looking awesome, keep it up.
Whats next on the "To do" list?
Everything else
Probably finish painting up the first 2 Thousand Sons squads first. Should have them complete by next weekend - including photos.
Nice, how you feeling about your work so far? getting excited for your first battle?
Love the extra effort put into the termies and the plastic Sorcerors.
This is 1k sons done right. Only question I have is that I thought the Rhinos are supposed to be levitating.
Ive seen this done with plasticard covering the tread areas and a flying base underneath.
Yep excited, but a little side-tracked with touching up already painted models because I've learnt a new trick or skill because my painting has improved/
I'm happy with my painting to date, was worried it would be a lot worse than it is when I was spending all of that time drilling and adding magnets
Thanks for the feedbackI was thinking of levitating everything in this army - putting them all on discs/screamers, having floating vehicles, but had second thoughts due to the rules, points costs, and my own own personal thoughts about this army.
I wanted to create a Thousand Sons army where the bulk of the army was rubric marines with a few sorcerers to guide it, and a supporting force of scavenged/stolen/hired fleet of servitor driven vehicles, summoned daemons, and mercenaries.
The idea being that this is a just one splinter group of the chapter that had escaped Prospero when the Wolves attacked, and had survived the Rubric of Ahriman but had been exiled (along with Ahriman) by Magnus.
It's been 13 years or so since I read that particular fluff, so it may have been updated or my memory is wrong, but that was my take on it.
Plus I'm too lazy and unskilled to pull of levitating rhinos that are clearly too magical to be rhinos, and would most logically come under the rules of fast moving skimmers![]()
2012
So, it's been a while since I have updated this log. I took a little break from this due to lot's of stuff happening all at once, such as moving house, getting myself and my wife ready for our first child, holidays, and playing too much BF3...
I'm settled again now, I've gotten sick of BF3, and all I have left to do is wait for baby and paint the rest of these miniatures...
So to get things rolling again, here is what has been painted in the last couple of weeks.
Half a horror squad:

I still need to finish off some of the teeth and inside of mouths, but apart from that this half are done except for basing.
See you in six months when I've painted the other half.
...only joking! (maybe).

good work, good to see an update, maybe i should post one on mine...
Lovely work so far... the subtle glow achieved in the horrors is fantastic.
your Terminators are also superb, and i think the blending of the blue into its highlights is testimony to a fantastic painter. Hard to fathom this is your first army. You are gifted.

Ever wondered why Maths seemed so hard?
"Everytime I see a maths problem it looks like this: If I have 10 ice cubes and you have 11 apples, how many pancakes would it take to cover the roof.
- ANSWER - Purple, because aliens don't wear hats..."
Yeah, agree with Daniel- this army is wonderful as any army, let alone your first. Impressed by the painting, the foresight and the converting. I've been doing this for almost 20 years and I've never bothered with push molds OR magnets... great job on the blending too.
If you like what I've said please return the favour

Finally had a chance to sit down and paint some more today, have not had much free time to spend on this
So just a small update on what I did for the first time today.
Gems!
I've been putting this off for a while now, wasn't sure I could pull it off. Pretty happy with the result (photos are a little out of focus).
Now I'll have to go back and add these to the rest of the army, Terminators, Thousand Sons. Sorcerors...
Luckily there are plenty of helpful tutorials on the internet.

Very cool! I like your painting style!
nice work mate! but my advice, if your doing blood effects on your mini's source a bottle of tamya clear red. It does amazing things to your mini's when used for blood effects
