Tonight's installment just cause Tzarinchilla asked for it, something big and gribbly.
Loving the background story for Rakarth and basing my army around Karond Kar, I felt it would be a shame not to include him. Now although I do have the original model I felt like I should update him and add him to my unit of Dragonlords (yes I did say unit).
Now I did do other pictures but for some reason the file host seems to want to keep altering the damn things. So if you'd like a better look check them on my blog
As you'll be able to see he shares a similar scheme to the rest of the army. I converted him from the High Elf Dragon kit, but thought that the rock was just not a good look, so removed it and made it a flying Dragon. (Having a few of them in the same pose would just look daft).
That is a fantastic dragon man. I really dig your limited palette and the theme.
How do you see your army taking shape? Will you be including any slaves, heavy on monsters etc? Aenerion (another user also collecting a karond kar based force) will love this blog: I will pass it along.

Sinz I think you should get a shot of all your painted models just to give folks an idea of what your force is (even if you havent re-based the others yet)![]()

i third that motion
nice work so far looking forwards to seeing more
Arrrgh sorry but I don't think I'll have the time, any time soon. Fingers crossed I'll get a whole group shot for you once I hopefully get a big game going at GW Carlisle.
I have managed to search out a couple of shots from a game played in 2008, and the army has grow a bit since then. Best I can do at the moment.
Basically it was my Dark Elves take, we had about 20,000 points per side. I did end up with an ally Dark Elf force added on, but that wasn't even 1,000 points.
Will that let me off the hook for a couple of weeks :P
And now for my daily post
Well as I've had a really long day at work and don't have the energy to add a lot tonight here's another off the shelf mini. It's a Terminator Librarian I painted up around the same time as the Templars. The plan was to sell the Librarian cause all I needed off him was the big book thing off him shoulders. (I anyone would like to buy him feel free to make an offer).
Tomorrow, I'll hopefully have a picture of the unit I've been working on.
20,000 pts! :O I look forward to seeing that all spruced up and with close up shots! And its good to see you get to wield it all at once

Funny you have been working on that very miniature, I've been doing the same one for a client!
I've modified him with some ''grey knight/inquisition'' stuff. I'll update picture in 2-3 days.
And about you dragon, it's great to see such a good result with that number of colour, I love the palpable feel of malfeasance that irradiate from the rider. A solid looking pieces. And a stunning army, that is!
Come to see my random project log
Mainly containing:
chaos, grey knight, high elf, bizarre and...Lego???
Nice, liking him a lot! You got any 40k gribblies to show us (tanks :P )

My Dust Warfare plog
Ahh Karond Kar, your a man after my own heart.
Did you say you had added to all that?![]()
I'm really digging your BSB and the lifetaker model. I like the use of facial tattoo's on druchii too very fitting and something I'll be gearing up to on mine when they get back on the road.
How are you doing the skin tone? I'm struggling a bit with making them so pale.
So as my friend Tzarinchilla asked for some pictures of big gribbly 40k stuff I had myself a wander to GW Carlisle to pick up my World Eaters. They had been on display in the cabinet there, for about 4 days, until an area manager dropped by and told them they had to remove them cause there were bits on them that were not GW made. Ah well
They got moved into the back store room, where I managed to forget to go pick them up. So 2 months later when asked for 40k stuff, I thought, hmmm that Land Raider would be good for that one. And so here it is.
I tried to keep it pretty simple and not too Chaosified (if that's a word) When I was doing the Eaters I didn't really want them to look too far gone, maybe being a few years after the turn to the dark side and still looking like the marines they were.
I'll answer some of your questions shortly, but dinner is calling now![]()
Right, dinners eaten so time to answer your questions
@lilloser2010 - The army is going to be beast heavy, with everything I can muster. Although with the number of troops I have the beasts may look a little sparser than they should.
@Aenarion - I did do a guide to painting the flesh a while ago, but I can't seem to find it or the pictures I used for it. Basically I work as follows :
Base coat of either Tallarn Flesh or Dwarf Flesh (It doesn't make a whole lot of difference)
Next a 50/50 mix of the above with Elf Flesh highlight
A Elf Flesh highlight
A 50/50 mix of Elf Flesh and Space Wolves Grey hightlight
and a final touch of pure Space Wolves Grey
Thanks for all the nice comments guys, there's much more to come![]()
Offer cakes sinz, or cooies :P
Another fine model. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!![]()

I don't play competitive games so figured that most of my opponents wouldn't mind if I payed for Spearmen, and just used them as Warriors.
I've been debating today as to whether or not I should 'bloody up' the weapons of all the Elves. My original idea for the bloody weapons was to just give them to the Khainite regiments and characters, so I could tell easily which was and wasn't Khanite. But I do like the looks of the blood. I suppose I can leave it for now and come back to it at a later date.
Oo your DE scheme is nice and dark! DE with with the alabaster skin... Very apt.
The dragon is ACE!
Over the last couple of days I've been working on two of my Executioner regiments. I decided that all of my Khanites should have bloodied weapons. So set about on Friday painting them, I really like how they've turned out.
I'm also in the process of organizing a huge game of Fantasy at GW Carlisle, the game will involve my Dark Elf Horde and Tzarinchilla's Warriors of Chaos. The basic idea is that we will have a table full of fully painted and based models on both sides, we will be the side of Destruction and anyone with painted forces of Order, no matter what they are can turn up and pitch them into the battle.
I haven't quite figured on Special characters (not too keen on them myself) or what to do about magic items, but there's plenty of time to sort that.
I've decided that it would be a cool idea to keep a track of how many points are painted and ready for war (well from the Dark Elves anyhow) on the first post. So far it's 2529 pointslots more to do.
Those executioners are stunning! The red of the blood is so vivid against the white base. Those units are definitely going to stand out on the battle field!
