Played a three player game today for the first time and it was a blast. My opponents were two of my brothers, one a regular opponent, the other playing my Fallout rules for the first time.
We played on a 36" x 36" set-up with the forces being
- Caesar's Legion:
- Decanus with pistol & machete
- Legionary with throwing spears
- Legionary with assault rifle
- Legionary with ripper & hunting rifle
- Legionary with machete & hunting rifle
- Legionary with hunting rifle & bladed gauntlet
- New California Republic
- Officer with assault rifle
- Trooper with assault rifle
- Trooper with assault rifle
- 1st Recon sniper with scoped hunting rifle
- Ranger with scoped hunting rifle
- Heavy Trooper with lmg
- Super Mutants - My faction
- Brute with minigun
- Mutant with Super Sledge
- Nightkin with Super Sledge
- Centaur
So we set up with each side choosing one table edge to set up. First fire went to the NCR as the 1st Recon sniper badly wounded the Centaur which waddled off looking for cover. A legionary opened up on a Super Mutant wounding it. First kill went to the NCR as the LMG of the Heavy Trooper ripped through the spear armed legionary.
In the second turn the Legion got revenge as the ripper armed legionary carved open the salvaged power armour of the heavy trooper. The NCR was badly deployed and found itself fighting hand to hand and losing to the Legion. Meanwhile the Nightkin under cover of its stealthboy ambushed the 1st Recon sniper killing him with a powerful blow from its super sledge. The NCR were reeling from this attack on two flanks.
Next turn saw the centaur shot dead by the Legion, but the Brute shredded a Legionary with a burst of accurate minigun fire. The NCR managed to stabilise their line, shooting dead the ripper-armed legionary, while the Ranger survived a missed swing from the Nightkin, only to snap his knife on the mutant's tough hide.
Then the other Super mutant fought a legionary in the centre of the table but lost! Followed by the NCR finally killing the nightkin, it appeared that the Super mutants were out of it and the NCR might just prevail.
However the Legion renewed its attacks and the NCR's luck ran out as its surviving troops died, leaving a Decanus and legionary to fight the Brute. The Brute managed to kill the Decanus with more minigun fire but the other legionary drew his machete and charged the mutant which needed to roll a 3 or less save to survive, it came up 3!
Turning its depleted minigun (down to ROF 2) one last time on the legionary it scored the necessary hit to win, just!
All in all, a very bloody but very exciting game which swung in favour of each side and hinged on one dice roll! We even had one car explode with the force of a mini-nuke when the Ranger was killed.

Seems like you had a blast![]()
nice use of that Nightkin![]()
The updates are all looking very good.
I think that it's fair enough not to cut up those buildings, as there are plenty of intact buildings in both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. They just look a little worse for wear in terms of the peeling paint work, and that sort of thing.

Very true. Though recently I noticed that the Supermarket model had a growing crack above the door in addition to the break at the bottom, so I hacked it apart along that fault line. I'll get a pic but that is now one partially ruined Not-so-Super-Duper-Mart
Finished a few Mercs. Painted these guys up in the Talon Co/Rivet City colours. These are a mix of Copplestone and EM4 models, so basically all Mark Copplestone. One merc has a laser rifle and another a missile launcher, a great equaliser when facing Power Armour!
And a trio of Feral Ghouls from Brother Vinni.

Wow, those em4 minis go alongside the Copplestone marines really nicely.
R.
I gathered that, but I hadn't realized how well that stacked up next to each other before. It doesn't help that the pics on the em4 website are dreadful.
R.
True, the pics on EM4 are poor. If you are interested in their models you can get them and see better photos at forlornhopegames.co.uk
And another couple I forgot about.
A First Recon spotter and a Brotherhood scout in Recon armour
I really like the Feral Ghouls. You've captured their different skin tones very well.
The Talon Company mercenaries are also impressive. They are very reminiscent of a Necromunda gang.

Thanks Irisado, I think they'd make good Van Sars
Got a few models from Armourcast. I've yet to do the Bloatflies but these guys are nearly finished.
First of all
What are moo looking at?
Armourcast never included the pack it was supposed to come with, so waiting on them to correct that, I'll be using this gal as the objective in Caravan raid scenarios.
Centaur
Yao Guai

You've inspired me to start my own fallout side project! Any advice??
Any chance of a size comparison shot on the centaur? It looks pretty big...
Game, same scale as you. 28mm. Am thinking about doing something dungeon crawl-ish.
Insidentally, what rule set are you using? Fallout Warfare?
I'm using my own homebrew rules, here is the first version. I need to post up the latest version
http://www.warseer.com/forums/showth...-wargame/page4
Read it, will comment there! There are some definate similarities with my rules!
Anyway, which miniatures are your favourites? I'm planning on starting with ghouls, scorpians, radroaches, molerats... the critter selection, really. I'll move onto raiders after that.
I'd love to see Radroaches! They and Giant Ants are ridiculously hard to find.
My favourites? Tough question. I really like the varied NCR models. Also like my Legion models, turned out much better than I thought. But I'm very fond of my Chinese Remnants.
That centaur looks really impressive. I really like how you've painted that.
The pose of the Yao Guai is spot on. That's pretty close to how they like to strike in the game.
