Thread: War. War Never Changes..........

    Re: War. War Never Changes..........

I remember my history teacher making bullet holes in a model jeep by heating a pin with a soldering iron and forcing it through the plastic. It looked good. Just be VERY careful or you'll burn off your finger prints.

If you don't want Legion or NCR graffiti. The Brotherhood seem everywhere. You've got some raiders - easy enough to come up with a gang name. Then there are the generic ones like No Mutants/No Ghouls/No Smoothskins/No Whatever... Danger: Deathclaws/Mirelurks that fantastic Nuclear symbol that I really should know the name of..?

Something sharp and strong (not a knife). Heavy duty scissors or a thin phillips screwdriver. Then hammer it in. It should work, as I've used it on something similar, but it depends...
Is that plastic/glass all one piece on the inside of the bus, or is it separate pieces?
If it's all one piece this won't work.

    Also the log is great.
The brotherhood early on, and the vault dwellers are the best. Where did you get the brotherhood figures?

There's some really great resources in general here already. I've been looking through it for modelling buildings.
    Project Log:

    Currently: Ghostly Brettonians and Mordheim

It's all one piece but I'll try unscrewing the vehicle to remove it. Should have thought of that sooner

If only I'd seen this sooner http://ainstycastings.co.uk/product_...fe01cd3a05a78f

The Brotherhood figures are Viridian Assault Marines from Scotia Grendel. They're actually my least favourite as I've only dry-brushed them, I couldn't figure out how to get the colour you see in-game.

Cheers Fabian! It's an awesome game isn't it?

Having bashed up (and broken and reglued) the bus I managed to get the glass out, removed the doors and engine hood. Still need to rust it up but here's how it looks so far

And the latest recruit for my NCR squad. One of the elite Heavy armour troopers in salvaged Brotherhood power armour, carrying a minigun. He is denoted as NCR by the red stripe on his arms

Cheers Will, no it's just short, controlled bursts of GW black spray. I have tamiya soot and rust powders to apply next

    Cool Blog

I can’t believe no one’s done an officially licensed miniatures game from the fallout universe yet, it could be massive.

If you’re ever in need for mini ideas check out this thread loads of inspiration there http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=24228.0

Ah that one. The gas stations in Fallout 3 and NV are very different in style, so I'm not copying either! I'll just stick with my generic 40's style, change the signs to say Poseidon Energy and dirty it up.

Thanks Joe, yes that thread is my go-to for everything on my Fallout project

I made one change to my plans and that is regarding caesar's legion. I wasn't really happy with the scale of the figures, which are noticeably smaller than my others. Plus they do just look like Romans with guns in their hands (which is exactly what they are after all!)
So looking at the imagery again I noted that the major theme in their look was American football helmets and armour. So I ordered a few models from Neomic (human fantasy footballers) and weapon'd them up and they look much better. hopefully will get some initial pics up later.

I'm so longing to see the end result of this plog

In Fallout 3, Raiders pump grafitti all over their hangouts, mostly curses and the so door with green letters I will get warned for posting a picture of.
Brotherhod Logos are appropriate outside bunkers, etc.
Are you going to make the Citadel, btw?

I don't think my missus would be happy with a scale model of the pentagon taking up most of the spare room!

I'm in the process of changing the Texaco signs on the gas station to say Poseidon Energy. Once that's done I'll dirty it up and scrawl graffitti over it

Here's my Caesar's Legion troops so far. I much prefer these guys to the Warlord plastics & guns I tried earlier, plus they are the right size. Bear in mind these guys are not finished but i'm liking how they are turning out.

For a gorup of minis that are "not finished" they still look great! This Log has got me hooked - It's a good thing Old World Blues is coming out tomorrow!

Good call on the ceasers legion, consider that idea stolen. I have about 25 minis from EM4 and 8 cars in a box, once I have finished with my Force on Force stuff will be getting scenery from EM4 to. Just gonna get it all together before starting on it. You decided on a ruleset?

Yes I am writing my own skirmish set with heavy fallout flavour. I will post it and the lists up for anyone to use before long.

    25mm? Great, thank you!
I for one would appreciate your takeon on Fallout vehicles(brahmin chariots, etc), as they're seen in Fallout Tactics, which probably is the most wargame like Fallout game

Keep up the Good fight(And make sure to make an armored vault suit for a lone wanderer)

This looks really great. I've been figuring out a way to use my mountain of misc figures. If you have any requirements for specific figures translating to fallout be sure to head over to the "future-war" section of lead-adventures.com. They have a stickies post on their forums that is dedicated to fallout. Keep up the inspirational work.

Great log, a big thumbs up from me.

I need to finish my raiders so I can use them in Necromunda... And a Storm Raven looks like it might be convertable into a Vertibird... Then I'd need some Enclave troops to ride in it... Gah! So many project ideas...
