All the stories about people's experiences with people that had horrible attitude's, I almost feel conditioned to feel dread whenever I walk into gamesworkshop, "is this gonna be the day I run into one of those people?"

    6. No more story based articles like the ones they used to have with the Inquisitor game. We had one about the Thorians, but not about the other philosophies.

    What grinds my gears...

That the one buddy that hosted our 40k games is now too busy to have our group over. Not a stab just a gripe. And not having room at my apartment to host myself. Or beautiful scenery to add...

That the local gaming store's batch of 40k players COMPLETELY ignored cover the few games I watched second hand, not saves mind you but three different times I saw the same player put a TANK in an upper story of a building. BTW he is one of the groups organizers...

The fact that I still read this somewhat useless stuff on here even though I haven't gotten a game in in over a year.

And I played Tau having to use use every snarky trick in the book to just salvage another tie...and couldn't truly field an all comers list with them...

I miss getting a game in with my buddies we just don't have the spare time anymore as a group, and many of these grinding situations I will not tolerate with strangers, it is tough enough with people I care about. However 5ed did get me playing again after not playing since 2ed, that I'm thankful for. Lots of good times.

    7. Why would Daemonettes care if they were clothed or naked? The newer models have them wearing corsets, the others were topless. Daemons of any kind don't have a values system.

That Tau disdain melee combat, yet their revered leaders use a blade/symbol of office.
That my friends automatically refuse to play me because my Tau list is a 'gunline' (It's not, they just assume, I field kroot and pulse carbines (rapid-move infanty tau))
Grey Knights in all shapes, sizes, forms, variations.
People who won't deviate from the rules for custom games (not rule re-writes, just adding flavour rules and stuff)
Space marine termi-spam in as many land-raiders as is possible in their points limits (without thought or reason)
People who are ignorant of the rules (Despite having ample time to learn)
People who think i'm stupid for not playing mech/battlesuit Tau
Blood angels players who put four models down on the field (not literally, but close) then blame their army when they get flattened
Children who play grey knights (Seriously, there are 7 (no exaggerations) that regularly visit my store, place down paladins then charge)
Ignorance of rules, either for their own gain or just for it's own sake
    Overpricing of models
People who stifle creativity to stick with GW
People who need their list to be the most powerful thing in the world, instead of having fair games (Tailoring)
Flamers (poor Kroot it's fair but annoying)
    Monoliths (powerful but fair)
People who don't let me play gue'vesa (It's not something I demand, but I like to do it for flavour)
People who play an army for it's strengths, even if they don't like it
    People who text during games
People who steal from the store rather than buying models.

    Sorry for the rant D:

When a game at a friends house turns sour because he all of the sudden turns into a rules lawyer about everything he possibly can. It was the top of the 2nd turn and I called it and left. I don't think I have been that mad in years, not even when I lost tournaments literally by an inch.

While I appeciate the 90% eye contact rating (thanks to a non-revealing flat black t-shirt specifically selected to make my 40k gaming days "stress-free"), the fact that you don't even bat an eye after releasing toxic fumes from your posterior while telling me about how unbeatable your Grey Knights army is and that my Thousand Sons should fight you bewilders me to no end.

No, I do not want to play your Grey Knights. I need to go throw up.

This entire post would make a great sig....
Paranoia isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you think they are out to get you, it means you think you matter.

I am not a tourney player, but man does it suck when you show up at a friends house and after the initial handshake it is ALL BUSINESS. Not the happy go lucky kind of fun business mind you, but where everything until the last roll of the game gets OLD. Watching movement, wondering how much they have moved(why dont people you have called out on movement more than once in the past don't leave a die on the original model position?), bickering over cover saves...and now those arguments are shorter with TLOS. Heartfelt Thanks to GW, truly.

I think the second to last game I played had a similar ending where we argued over the victory conditions and have gamed once since. Where I got rolled by Blood Angels who killed half my list on turn one(bad deployment) and intentional gave up on the top of turn three to not be tabled by turn four and save time to return to my pregnant girlfriend. Ah life...

I could the imagine the nonsense WAAC tourney players do, but bickering with buds does last longer I bet.

He spend 20 minutes arguing with me on why he was getting a Cover Save from a Markerlight. I politely said read the rulebook where it says you can only take Cover Saves against stuff that causes wounds and he still refused to believe me. Then it was that I had forgot to mention to him that my Commander was attached to a Crisis Suit squad although I had clearly told him during deployment. He told me that I had broken unit coherency and I said how and he said well that Commander isn't in that squad......it was one of those moments that makes you want to scream at the ***** walls.

People who think they know everything best and worship the various netlists they come up with ( read: find) and deride and ridicule all other options as "silly, not good or stupid". Worse yet, if they keep that attitude even after the proof they are very mediochre players, losing to people with fun lists rather than netlists.

People who play space marines and think it's a good justification to codex hop around because "it fits the fluff better", **** off, you have an army book stick to it, just because your army has the same look as half of the other armies out there doesn't mean you can just choose the codex you like for them.

    Re: What Grinds your Gears?

That it has taken me so long to paint Dreadfleet, my Tau, my Necrons, My Skaven, the fact that Space Hulk is still in mint condition, That my Space Marine army will never be completely finished because there's always something I need or a rather nice model released and I want it. People who ask if you know of anywhere to game and you suggest your FLGS they completely disregard it even though it's a ten minute walk from where they live. Peolple who complain that their gaming club charges attendance fees but won't entertain a smaller group that's free to attend, Gaming snobs, the type who refuse to play against a new player because they're inexperienced but won't take the opportunity to help them learn the game. People who are downright nasty to a player who has difficulty reading the rule books because they have a learning disability, that one'sfrom a personal and professional perspective, I have to type any posts I want to make in word and then rely on spellcheck and my OH to ensure it's spelt correctly before I post, even then there's mistakes. Just noticing that the reply box has a spell checker, bu**er!

Well, firstly, Living Metal now just gives a chance to ignore shaken/stunned, and every Necron vehicle has it. So, its now highly vulnerable to meltas, lances, MCs etc.

Second, it can no longer deep-strike safely if it lands on a model, and (despite being the size of a pyramid), just mishaps like infantry.

Finally, it can no longer buff friendly models, having lost both the ability to teleport them out of combat and the ability to enhance their repair rolls whenever it does so.

It's not dreadful, but it's lost its place in the necron army - The Doomsday Ark as a stronger large blast, the Ghost Ark can enhance RP rolls, Ghost Arks and Night Scythes can both move models around, as can a Despair Cryptek. Also, having lost Living Metal, and with most other Necron Vehicles being AV13, it's only slightly more resilient.

It just seems to have lost virtually everything that made it special.

What grinds my gears, what REALLY grinds my gears, for no rational reason that I can fathom which makes it worse in a way.
Horus suddenly losing his matched talons because some stupid artist couldn't be bothered to fact check when doing the cover for collected visions,
now suddenly every *******' depiction of him has a stupid lame mace.

Really it grinds my gears no end.

I can see why this bothers you, but I don't think it's something you can be justifiably angry about.

Well, angry is a bit of a big word, more annoyed to no end. Allt hose csm players who use the sm codex or sw codex because theirs "is bland and bad". Pfff, my 7th edition orc armybook was horrid as well, didn't use it as count as demons though, stick with an army book for better or worse. Same goes for people using any codex other than the standard one for Iron Hands, Raven Guard etc, really? Your stuff is in the normal codex, use that, not the one with the best goodies. What annoys me most though is the "innocent and it's normal" insulted act they put on when you call them out on it, as if I'm the old grumpy fart (well, ok I am I guess, but still) and they only did the normal thing etc. Bah
